Best possible views of Emigrant Peak and the central Paradise Valley. Lots of deck space looking out at the mountains. Get outside, as the house windows are not perfectly situated to appreciate the awesome views.
Very central location in Paradise Valley, just a minute from the Emigrant General Store. Close to Chico Hot Springs (bring swim ware), and 25 minutes from the North Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Mill Creek and Emigrant Gulch Forrest Service access to the Absaroka Wilderness is just a few minutes across the valley. Fishing on the Yellowstone River is just a minute or two away.
The house: There are three queen-bed bedrooms - two on the main floor, and one in the basement. There is a king-bed attic bedroom. There are two full baths, one on the main floor, and one in the basement. The eat-in kitchen accommodates 7-ish at the table. The living room has a full-size couch and one sitting chair. There are multiple chairs and seating on the large deck out back.
Note: The basement accommodations are fine, but lack views and are a little removed from the rest of the house. The attic king bedroom has ladder-like access, so large bags, and those with mobility issues will struggle.
The entire house is clean and functional. No luxuries. Appointments, decor, and remodeling are all mid-90's standard affair. This is not a luxury home, nor is it a double-wide trailer. Just standard design. There are some quirks due to the nature of multiple build-outs, staggered remodeling, and some differed maintenance, but they are common sense workarounds. Plan to fix (as a courtesy) at least one minor defect. The hot tub requires some skill to operate the controls.
There are no close neighbors, and one can walk along the local dirt roads while rarely seeing a passing car. Everyone waves at everyone else. Emigrant, and Glastonbury in particular, is known for high winds that last days. Be prepared both physically and mentally for lots of wind. Access is very good, and the roads are plowed in the winter.
There are several choices for dining out "locally"; just ask around at the General Store. Gas and food stuffs are available at the General Store. The house is well stocked with linen, towels, and basic toiletries. Bring hand lotion if you are from a humid climate.
PROS:
1) Views.
2) Location.
3) 4 private bedrooms.
4) Good value for standard accommodations.
CONS:
1) Attic and basement bedrooms have detractors.
2) Minor differed maintenance.
