Charming Ennis Montana Bungalow

  • Located in the original old part of Ennis, only 1 block off of main street and one block from world famous Madison River, Edgar House is perfect for folks wanting to experience life in a small western town but still have a view of the Madison River and Madison Mountain Range. The house is quite quaint and comfortable, with 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms, and a full elegant dining area as well. There is a large backyard for entertaining that is well equipped with a gas barbecue and picnic table and wonderful shade trees, as well as a privacy fence. Great restaurants, the Madison Valley Library, art galleries, and fly fishing shops are only a 5-minute walk away. Ennis also has a lovely 9-hole golf course, Madison Meadows, located just over a mile to the south of town.

If you are looking to be downtown Ennis (i.e., one block away), it is the place for you. No driving back after a long day of fishing and having a few drinks... It is rustic and perfect. The only one issue, someone should take the two hours and put together a book/notebook detailing the area (i.e., restaurants, bars, stores, fishing area, surrounding area) and historical factors regarding the home and Ennis. Those are simple and good touches, with specifics for WiFi-check in-checkout, etc. All and all, 9.8 out of 10 for value, nostalgia, management help, etc. You want overpriced high-end, go somewhere else. This is like a beach house built in the 50's with all the essentials and working parts.

Ennis, MT Gem

This property was just about perfect. We've been coming to Ennis to fish the Madison for 19 years and this location was just fantastic. Loved all the quirky little aspects of the home like the height of the light switches, the front door knob being almost centered ... no closet space in each room upstairs but was manageable. Would definitely stay here again.

Great house

Last minute decision and turned out great. Awesome spot for both inlaws and kids - very relaxing back yard, and just a block away from the Main Street where there are tons of great shops. We hope it will be available next year too! Only thing I wish is that there was some sort of AC unit ...it was HOT, and the fans weren’t really helping too much. I guess when it’s 95 outside it’s just what happens.

Fantastic!

The location of the property was perfect. The fly shop and town was well within walking distance of the house. The view from the front porch was beautiful. It was truely the best of both worlds. Would highly recommend this house!

All the amenities were there that we needed. Sleeping arrangement fit very well for our family needs. Convenient to downtown. Loved the fireplace in cool evenings. The whole family enjoyed it. Thank you.

A great place to stay

We loved the house. It was stocked with everything you might need. It was spotless. The location is great as you can walk to everything in town. We have seen deer in the backyard every morning.

Great location

Loved the house and the location. We loved waking around the corner to our favorite restaurant/bar. The view from the front yard is beautiful. The property manager, Kathy, was very responsive when the furnace didn’t come on initially. We’d stay there again.

Ennis Bungalow

The Ennis bungalow was convenient to town and areas we were fishing on lovely lakes. Kitchen, dining and living room were spacious. Only had 1 bathroom with small area upstairs with sink and toilet that you can’t stand all the way up due to low slanted roof. Listing needs to state one and a half baths. Enjoyed our stay in Ennis.
