"Location perfect (knew about being under flight path, others might not). But we know the island very well having visited regularly since 1972.Villa sleeps eight but, and a big but, everything else designed for six! Table, chairs, sun beds. Also a bizarre range of kitchen equipment, none of which matched or were sufficient. Dishwasher needs replacing. In general the host, perfectly charming when I needed to call him, should make a visit to assess how to bring it up to date before next season.I was also very surprised when advised that there would be no change of sheets after the first week. Never saw a cleaner but the pool man came four times in two weeks.All-in-all a perfectly acceptable Villa but could do with money spending on fixtures and fittings; for example the double mattress in one of the upstairs bedrooms did not fit the bed which was two singles pushed together."

"The villa is nice and well maintained in a lovely area. However, the location isn’t great unless you have a car. There are no grocery stores within walking distance - the closest mini market is a cab ride and costs 25euro round trip which is an awful lot if you just need to top up on supplies. Cabs generally aren’t great - there only appears to be one taxi company on the island and it’s hit or miss trying to get a cab. So my advice is to definitely hire a car. The flight path is right overhead but you do get used to that. We had some issues with bugs but I guess that’s to be expected in this type of location. I also expected the villa to have enough cleaning, laundry and hygiene supplies - I get that it’s not a hotel but I had to buy dishwasher tablets, laundry tablets, toilet roll etc etc….at this high price point basic supplies should be provided especially as towels etc only get changed once a week! The hosts is very communicable and I had no issues with her responding and sorting issues out quickly. The basement area with the third bedroom needs updating. Overall an ok experience but not the most relaxing holiday I’ve ever had due to no local convenience stores and flight path. I don’t like leaving mediocre reviews but I think it’s important to be transparent to enable people to make informed choices about where they want to stay and whether to arrange their own transport! "
