Nice riad in the middle of the old town, a few minutes from the sea

The beautifully landscaped Dar Okapi is located in the middle of the medina (= historic old town). The riad is built over four floors around an inner courtyard. The house has a living room with fireplace, followed by a dining room, three bedrooms for a maximum of six people, a large bathroom with toilet and a separate toilet; Kitchen and various sun terraces. In the house there is TV, internet access, telephone (to answer calls). Fatima comes every day to clean the house. It is possible to have meals prepared by her (- which would have to be negotiated with Fatima). Bed linen and towels are changed every three days.
It is a three-minute walk to the beach. Shops, cafes and restaurants are nearby.

Large riad in great location

We had a nice stay at this riad and would rate it 4.5 stars. It had a lot of space spread over 4+ floors and nice character. It could use a little sprucing up (some painting, new outdoor cushions). Pros -big, lots of space -good central medina location -kitchen is well stocked -wifi was functional -excellent response from host (hot water heater broke and they replaced it right away) Cons -could use some extra love (outdoor cushions are worn and stained) -top terrace has potential, but needs some upkeep -some sewer smells (typical for riads) -alley was not very clean (not the host's fault)

Riad très joli mais pas vraiment fonctionnel

Fatima nous accueille, le lieu est joli et propre. Les lits sont faits et confortables. La soupe nous attend et est délicieuse. Cependant le riad, très bien placé dans la médina, est atteint par de petites ruelles et la porte d'entrée est aufond d'une impasse et les odeurs d'excrements de chats est assez horrible.Il est tres dommage que la cuisine ne soit pas au même étage que la salle à manger et le sejour : il faut sans arret être dans des escaliers avec de hautes marches...De plus, nous avons eu la malchance d'avoir de la pluie régulièrement et il fallait sans cesse passer sous la pluie pour aller d'une piece à une autre et notamment aux toilettes ...Dommage car la décoration est magnifique, avec goût, et de magnifiques plantes égaient et embelissent les terrasses et exterieurs. On pourrait vraiment y etre tres bien si on n'était pas toujours dans les escaliers et sous la pluie...Nous avons quand même adoré notre séjour et remercions encore Fatima pour sa disponibilité. A l'interieur pas de mauvaises odeurs

Ryad très agréable et cosy, décoration de goût, encore beaucoup plus joli que sur les photos. Très bonne literie. Cuisine très bien équipée. En plein dans la vieille ville, emplacement idéal proche du port, de l'océan, des marchés... Fortement recommandé.

Wir hatten wundervolle Tage in Essaouira und im Dar Okapi. Die Abholung von Fatima am Busbahnhof hat perfekt geklappt. Wir werden wiederkommen :-) Das Haus erreicht man durch schmale Gassen mit Straßenhunden. Hier sollte man keine Angst haben.

Sehr schönes und geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Riad

Das Riad ist wirklich sehr liebevoll und sehr geschmackvoll renoviert und eingerichtet. Wir haben uns gleich wohlgefühlt. Man kann sich auch den ganzen Tag dort aufhalten, kochen, lesen oder einfach chillen.
