    A fully renovated 1700s tiny house in Essex Village, five minutes on foot from antique shops, seafood, and marsh views. Memory foam queen bed, new tiled shower, full kitchen, Hi-Speed WiFi. Reserved driveway parking. Fifteen minutes from grocery and pharmacy, 12–25 minutes from Addison Gilbert, Beverly, and Salem Hospitals. A quiet, unpacked home base for a 30-plus night stay, not a hotel room.

    The main level is one open, vaulted space holding both the sleeping area and the living area, with original pine floors, skylights, a memory foam queen bed, and a Roku Smart TV. The bathroom was newly renovated with a walk-in tiled shower and is thoughtfully stocked. Down on the lower level, the kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, cookware, and utensils, plus a table for two. This is a compact, character-filled tiny house built for one or two people on an extended stay, not a group getaway.

    Guest access:
    You'll have access to the entire tiny house, plus a reserved driveway parking spot. Please remember you're staying in a private home, not a hotel — treat the space with the same care you would your own. If anything comes up during your stay, Rachel's team responds within the hour and will do their best to resolve it quickly.

    Other details to note:
    • Check-in is after 4:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM, with no early check-in or late check-out available.
    • Quiet hours run from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
    • This property carries a town-enforced 30-night minimum stay — it cannot be booked for shorter trips.

Caterpillar House

We love Cape Anne - the Tiny House gave us a great simple but aesthetic platform from which to experience all our favs Beaches - crane and plum Farms - everywhere Polo - Wenham Shopping - Newburyport Walks - to the Great Narsh Golf - around the corner The hosts keep a great house with a great bed! Sweet Stay @ Little House in Essex

We had a lovely stay at this adorable tiny house with vintage charm. The pictures accurately reflect the space, which has plenty of parking and is within walking distance to the town center and the scenic road along the marinas. We also recommend checking out the Blue Marlin Grill and lovely Cranes beach, just a short drive away. Please note that since the 'lil house is a converted antique building (perhaps a former barn), the steps leading from the high-ceiling bedroom to the downstairs may not be suitable for older guests or those with mobility issues. Additionally, the bed could benefit from a topper, as it was a bit firm for our preference. Rachel, the host, was exceptionally responsive—one of the most attentive hosts we've ever encountered—and she went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable.

Perfect Tiny Home

My husband and I travelled to the area for some sight seeing and to visit friends, and I am so glad we booked this house in Essex to stay. Close to Salem and in walking distance to the cute downtown area. Rachel, the property manager, was easy to get ahold of with quick response time, which is amazing. The house also has an app with all the info you need along with area attractions and places to eat which we took full advantage of since we aren't from the area (check out Crane Estate...it's amazing! Plus a cute orchard/winery is on the way there!) We had a great time here!
