Escape to Thulite Chalet, a serene 14-acre mountain retreat located just five minutes from downtown Estes Park. Forget the hassle of trailhead parking; you can hike directly onto the Gem Lake and Lumpy Ridge trails right from the property (though a Rocky Mountain National Park pass is still required). After a day of exploring, unwind on one of two relaxing decks. Take in breathtaking, 360-degree vistas of the Continental Divide and Longs Peak from the upper deck, then head to the lower level for a sunset barbecue and outdoor dining.

The Space -
Inside, the home balances Southwestern charm with modern amenities.
Living Area: Unwind in the charming living room featuring an authentic elk antler chandelier and a cozy wood-burning fireplace. The main level is a dedicated tech-free zone, intentionally designed without a TV to encourage conversation, fireside relaxing, and total immersion in the mountain views. Instead, we invite you to raid our collection of board games, puzzles and books.

Dining: Host dinner at the beautiful wooden table with seating for six in the dedicated dining room.

Kitchen: Fully stocked, featuring a dedicated espresso/coffee machine for your morning caffeine fix.

Primary Suite: A spacious upstairs sanctuary with a King bed, Smart TV, private seating area, and large closet space.

Guest Room: A second upstairs bedroom featuring a Queen bed with views of Lumpy Ridge.

Flexible Living Space: A second living area upstairs with Roku tv and sleeper sofa, opens onto a private porch, perfect for taking in the mountain air.

Full bathroom with a double vanity and separate tub and shower.
Main-level powder room.

Note: To access this mountain gem, there are approximately 5 steps to the front door and 16 steps to the upper level. The owners reside in a separate home on the property and have a friendly dog you may see enjoying the acreage.

Things to be aware of:

You are welcome to use the fire pit as long as long as no fire restrictions are in place.
Guest responsible for supplying your own firewood.
Pets not allowed
No Air Conditioning
Do not mail or ship anything to this home
No large vehicles (trailers, RV’s, Campers etc.)
No parties
No smoking of any kind
You may see a friendly dog on property
Estes Park is a dark sky community, please bring a flashlight

We’ve stocked the place with a starter kit to help you settle in for your first day! Inside, you’ll find an extra roll of toilet paper, paper towels, a few trash bags, and sample-sized shampoo, conditioner, and bar soap. We’ve also included some liquid dish soap, a handful of dishwasher pods, laundry detergent, and coffee. Since these items are just to get you started, you’ll want to grab any extra supplies you need for the rest of your trip—there is a Safeway grocery store nearby that makes it super easy to stock up!
