We did not stay. There were many homeless people around. This part of town was terrible. Bars on the windows and doors. The area was deserted other than the homeless. We were on our 50th anniversary trip and the place scared us.

Classic "Old Dame" Hotel.

Wife and I spent 4 nights in Eureka and found this hotel. Great location, with walking distance to most of good restaurants in town. There are a fair amount of homeless or down on their luck around but we never had any problems. Probably common for California. The hotel is a classic old dame and our room was very unique but cozy. Lots of early 1900 charm but bathroom was modern, roomy and worked well. Recommend this place for people that want a unique, old time experience. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

This is the second time we have stayed at Inn @ 2nd & C. We came back because the unique rooms, quirky architecture, and the friendly staff. It does show its age a bit, but that's part of its charm.

Nice stay

Amazing homey hotel. Brings you back into your childhood into 1882. Very nice people, expect to see some cowboy ls when you step out of the hotel.

This historic inn was incredible! Pet friendly and just a beautiful Victorian in. When you walk in, you can feel the history of this place. Walking the halls and stairs you feel like your in a time capsule. Everything was a site to behold. The tavern was great! Skilled bartender and awesome design. The cat art was avant garde but strangely cute in a very interesting way. Next time I'm in Humboldt county I'll be staying here.

Charming and Lovely

Check in was fast and easy. Our room was very clean and inviting. Staff friendly, helpful and accommodating. Was a very different feel from most hotels that feel very sterile. The Inn at 2nd & C was very welcoming and homey feeling. Will most definitely keep this place as top choice for future visits.

Stayed here for a three day weekend and I don’t like using the “F” word, but this place was FABULOUS! To be fair, this isn’t a four star hotel, but if you’re going to Humboldt, you shouldn’t expect the Ritz-Carlton. Instead think about how cool it is to stay in a building that was built in the 1880’s and still has the charm of the old west (or at least the old west of Hollywood movies). Plenty of decent bars and restaurants in walking distance, including two in the hotel itself. 12/10, would recommend.

Wonderful character inside with beautiful antique pieces and has private parking lot. Downside is that it has a lot of not-so nice outside neighbors that made sleeping hard with the loud screaming and talking late into the night. No air was also hard and with a room faces the street and other businesses, I was not able to open my window for fresh air.

Nice, in theory

Service was good. The building itself was ok - a little dated and needing a refresh but a tad charming. The location was good - close to restaurants and bars. And the location was bad - in the middle of Eureka's homeless and/or addicted population that did not engender any sympathy when they were yelling at each other and blaring music outside our window at zero-dark-thirty. The window would have been closed if the building had air conditioning but it was cooler outside than in, thus we opened the windows.

The only real problem we had was with the restaurant. We had made a reservation and it was confirmed via text and email. When we got there, they said that they tried to call us, and let us know there was a party of 10 that came before us, and they could not accomodate until later. The bar was empty and the peeps behind were doing shots. The bartender said of course you can sit here and we will serve you. all was fine then, the restaurant blamed the whole situation on the front of the house saying that they did not have there books and should have not confirmed. But it was confirmed. All else was ok. Dark/ musty . but clean.
