The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how we travel, but it hasn't curbed our desire to explore. Here are some tips on how to handle the new challenges of travelling:

• Find out if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before locking in a flight. Also check if there are any conditions you'll have to follow on arrival, such as undergoing health assessments.
• When you pass through airport checkpoints, do not remove your face mask. You will be required to lower it briefly for identification purposes. Travellers who refuse to wear a face mask may face civil penalties and may also be escorted from the building.
• Avoid handing your boarding pass (paper or electronic) directly to a TSA employee. Instead, position your pass on the reader and then hold it up so the agent can inspect it.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now allowed in your carry-on luggage. It must be no larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to take it out of your bag for screening.
• Place any personal items (keys, wallet and phone) in your carry-on rather than a bin to reduce handling during the screening process.
• Transport your food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA agent will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
