About this property
Aurora Views from your Cozy Fairbanks Cabin
Experience an unforgettable Alaska winter surrounded by snow-covered woods, peaceful scenery, and the possibility of seeing the northern lights right from the property.
This newly remodeled two-bedroom home is designed to be a warm, comfortable home base for your Fairbanks winter adventure. Spend your days exploring, dog sledding, visiting hot springs, chasing the aurora, or simply experiencing Interior Alaska—then come home to a cozy space tucked into the woods.
Both upstairs bedrooms even have specially positioned windows so you can check the sky for northern lights without stepping outside.
The space 2 Cozy Bedrooms with Queen Beds Full Bathroom Fully Stocked Kitchen — cookware, utensils, spices, coffee, tea & more Northern Lights Viewing from the Property Beautiful Snow-Covered Forest Setting Washer/Dryer Exterior Vehicle Plug-In Warm & Comfortable Living Space
Enter through the spacious covered deck, which wraps around two sides of the home and provides a protected place to come in from the snow. Inside, the entry has plenty of room for winter coats, boots, and outdoor gear.
The entry opens into a vaulted living and dining area with a table for six, TV, and entertainment options for cozy evenings inside. A loveseat pulls out into a full-size bed and works especially well for children, though it may be a little short for most adults.
Just around the corner is the fully equipped kitchen. We love to cook and have stocked it with the cookware, utensils, spices, coffee, tea, and everyday basics we appreciate when traveling. If you find something missing, please let me know!
A short hallway leads to the first-floor bathroom with a full-size shower and combination washer/dryer, perfect for small loads during your stay.
Upstairs are two equal-size bedrooms, each with a comfortable queen bed. One of our favorite features of the house is the bedroom windows positioned so you can peek outside and check for the aurora from the warmth of your bed before deciding whether it’s time to bundle up and head outside.
The wooded setting provides dark skies and a peaceful place to enjoy Alaska’s winter scenery. Moose also occasionally wander through the property, so you may even have a few Alaska visitors of your own.
Whether you spend your days exploring Fairbanks, soaking at Chena Hot Springs, riding a dog sled, chasing the northern lights, or experiencing the snow and cold of Interior Alaska, the house offers a warm and welcoming place to come home to.
Come experience an Alaska winter—with the comforts of home waiting for you at the end of the day.
Guest access Guests have full, private access to the entire two-bedroom, one-bathroom house and covered porch. Dedicated parking is available for up to three vehicles, along with an exterior outlet for plugging in one vehicle during cold weather.
AWD or 4WD is required during the winter. The property is located in a wooded, hilly area, and winter driving conditions in Fairbanks can include packed snow and ice. We strongly recommend arriving with a winter-ready vehicle and being comfortable driving in Alaska winter conditions.
There is another full-time residence on the property, but only a small portion of the driveway is shared. We simply ask guests to be considerate when coming and going.
Other things to note Winter in Fairbanks is beautiful—and genuinely cold. Temperatures can fall well below zero, particularly during December, January, and February. Please come prepared with appropriate winter clothing and footwear.
An exterior electrical outlet is available for plugging in one vehicle. If you are renting a vehicle, we recommend confirming that it is properly winterized and equipped with a plug-in/block heater cord.
Snow and ice are a normal part of an Interior Alaska winter. The driveway is maintained, but conditions can change quickly during snowfall or extreme cold, which is why AWD or 4WD is required in winter.
Northern lights are often visible from the property when conditions cooperate, but aurora sightings can never be guaranteed because they depend on solar activity, cloud cover, and other conditions.
You may also see moose wandering through the property. They are incredible to watch, but please never approach or feed them. Give them plenty of room and allow them to move along on their own.

This was easily one of the nicest stays I've ever had. The host was kind, communicative, and incredibly accommodating. The house is easily the best-stocked and thought out property I've stayed in. Little details, like having cooking oil and spices, made the house feel homey. Amenities like a carport and outlet for an engine block heater, and washer/dryer add convenience. Location feels private, but close to town. Property was spotless and well-maintained. Easy 5/5 stars - thank you, Ginger!
What a beautiful and quiet little getaway!I normally stay in hotel hotels when I travel for work, but I took the opportunity here in Alaska to rent this little house and I could not be happier! The drive through the woods and the snow to get to the house was gorgeous and felt like I was escaping from the city and any hint of work. The cabinet itself was amazing, with everything that I could’ve needed and so many things that I didn’t even use this time. Snacks, coffee, dishes, and even bathroom toiletries! Everything that I could have needed was there, and it was almost like being at home, but with a much better view! I would recommend this to anyone trying to break away from the hustle and bustle and really just enjoy some quiet time in Alaska.!
This little house was about as perfect of a VRBO that one could wish for with all new everything with so many thoughtful details. It is nestled into a beautiful setting. Perfect.
The cabin is adorable. The beds were comfortable. We slept exceptionally well.Very thoughtful amenities in the kitchen.Ginger was easy to communicate with.No hidden fees!!We highly recommend this cabin!!!
The room was so cozy and clean and our host ginger was great! She responded quickly to my messages, she constantly made it known that I can ask her anything that I needed! We had a wonderful experience in Alaska staying at this cabin!
