Wohnen im alten Kornspeicher
Rental basis: Entire house or apartment Number of bedrooms: 2; Number of other rooms with beds: 0 Number of bathrooms: 1 If you cause damage to the property during your stay, you may be required to pay according to YourRentals’s property damage policy. The Old Granary combines historic charm with modern, ecological living comfort, set in the heart of a unique natural landscape.
The holiday apartment is located on the first floor and accommodates up to four adults and one child or, for example, two adults and three children. The Old Granary was built around 1780 and was originally part of a manor estate. Horses were once kept on the ground floor, while grain was stored on the upper levels.
The walls, up to one metre thick, are made of sandstone and originate from a nearby quarry. By 2018, the building was completely stripped back and comprehensively modernised in a fully ecological manner, with great attention to detail and in close cooperation with the heritage conservation authorities. Thanks to insulation made from wood and hemp, as well as the use of a total of 16 tonnes of clay plaster with integrated wall heating beneath, the holiday apartment is also very suitable for allergy sufferers.
The Selke Valley, unspoilt nature Your holiday destination is located in close proximity to the Selke Valley nature reserve, one of the most beautiful hiking regions in the Harz Mountains. Considered a true hidden gem, the Selke Valley is increasingly being discovered by hikers, families, individual travellers and adventurers. Here you can experience unspoilt nature, rare plants and wildlife, as well as a wide range of historical sights and medieval monuments.
