The Stone House - Wild Atlantic Way

Family-friendly holiday home in Fanore
This house is truly a remarkable work of art. It was built to resemble an old stone barn and does so beautifully.

On the bottom floor there are two bedrooms both with en suite bathrooms. One bedroom has a king size bed while the other has a queen. There is a study just outside the master bedroom with a twin bed. Upstairs you will find a magnificent Great Room. At the one end there is a seating area in front of a gorgeous stone fireplace. At the other end you can sit and take in the Aran Islands, Galway Bay and breathtaking sunsets through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The second twin bed is a daybed at the end of the room with the fireplace.

In the center of the room, there is a kitchen area with an antique table that comfortably seats 12 people. Also, hidden behind the fireplace, there is a powder room. The entire house has under floor heating which is truly decadent in the cool Irish countryside.

For those of you who wish to leave the house you will find abundant entertainment. There is a gorgeous sand beach just down the road. For the golfers in your group there is a world-class golf course just a few towns over in Lahinch. Also in Lahinch you will find some of the country's best surfing. Fanore is not as renowned for its surfing but does have a surf school every summer. And for those of you music lovers, Doolin is just one town over and is renowned for its traditional Irish music.

In addition Doolin has many incredible restaurants and a fabulous craft store just down the road from the church (The Doolin Craft Shop). And if you need to get out of the countryside and into a city, Galway is just an hour away. It’s a wonderful city. Despite its small size you can find most anything you need there. If you’re looking for a great bottle of Irish Whiskey or an unusual bottle of wine, go to The Vineyard then stop by Sheridan’s Cheesemongers where you will find an amazing selection of cheese from around the world. But for those who wish to explore Fanore, you will find gorgeous scenic walks and some of the best angling in the country. And if you want to see things from s different angle, go horseback riding. You’ll love it.

The house is just up the road from O'Donohue's Pub, a small grocery shop and a fabulous restaurant (Vasco). All of them are within walking distance.

**Please be aware that there is a cleaning fee to be left in Euros on your move out day and is calculated using the number of people in your party.

1-2 people: €100
3-4 people: €125
5-6 people: €150

Additional €50 per pet added to cleaning fee.

The maximum number of guests is 8. If there are more people staying in the house than your reservation specifies, you will be required to pay the cleaning fee for the number of people who stayed. If you exceed the maximum number of guests, we will hold your ENTIRE security deposit. No exceptions.

Pot of Gold!!!
This home is exactly what comes to mind when you say Irish Getaway- the home, the setting, the feel. The Stone House is comfortable, cozy, clean and well stocked. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, listening to the waves, watching the dolphins in the water and the cows in the pasture. The bed was super comfortable and the water pressure was AWESOME! The only draw back is that you never want to leave! Thank you for a great experience!

Wild Atlantic at our toes just about!
What a lovely place and location. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Only complaint is no shower amenities, so bring your own soap and shampoo. Otherwise the place is terrific! The Wild Atlantic did not disappoint! Huge waves, wind and white caps, terrific views. Loved the Stone House. .

A Fanore Beauty
We visited this past January and were delighted, once again, with the home and surrounds. Check-in was a breeze with Anna (she could not be more helpful) and we quickly settled in for our week's stay. Yeah, far fewer coaches and tourists in winter! Walks from the house to the nearby beach (past the ponies) and then back again to have a lovely meal in the well supplied kitchen. Then, after watching the sunset we always ended the evening by the lovely fireside. Go to the pub, you can walk there. We had a lovely evening with some local folks and Pat. Shop at SuperValu in Ennistymon. Shop at Mick and Mary's (very kind people) across from O'Donohughe's. Take the walk from Doolin to the Cliffs of Moher if you are fit. Eat at Anthony's and the Ballinalacken castle if going in Summer. Whatever your fancy, know that this two-bedroom home will be a delight.
