"Everything was great. From the hosts Douglas and his mother were amazing. Perfect location. Everything is walkable or 10 minutes by buggy. The included breakfast was prepared fresh to order by the chef. We were extremely happy with our experience here. The people are so friendly and welcoming. Plus the charm of this place being so small was great. The pictures shown on here don't do it justice. It's a fairly new property but don't hesitate to book here! "

"My husband and l are from the USA and stayed for one week in February 2026 in a room with a king size bed and ocean views. I was very nervous about going to a remote island with no chain hotels or known car rental agencies. The island businesses are completely run by locals using whatsapp. Mar em Mim had only 12 reviews at the time l made the reservation, so it was kinda risky, but l it had everything l wanted. I was so pleasantly surprised. The pousada (bed & breakfast) was exactly as pictured...

A localização é uma área afastada dos estabelecimentos comerciais, o que necessita do serviço de táxi constantemente, mas é praticamente beira mar da praia da Conceição. POUSADA DO MIRANTE

"Here’s a polished and more natural version of your review: One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The location is fantastic—it’s truly close to the beach (Praia do Boldró), within walking distance of Projeto Tamar, and just a short stroll from some of the island’s best attractions. The highlight, however, is the incredible hospitality. The food is amazing, the breakfast is wonderful, and the staff are among the most helpful, friendly, and genuinely happy people I have ever encountered anywhere in the world. If you are looking for a welcoming, family-friendly place to stay, this is it. A special thank you to Ruth, Max, Renata, and Karine for making our stay so memorable! A few suggestions for future guests: 1. Book everything through the hotel—they offer the same prices, and it makes the entire experience much easier. 2. Try to reserve most tours in advance, especially during busy periods. 3. Vila dos Remédios, where you’ll find more shops and restaurants, is only about a 10-minute drive away. 4. One of the best restaurants and bars on the island, Mirante do Boldró, is just a 1-minute walk from the hotel. 5. The island’s best açaí is also only a minute away on foot. 6. Praia do Boldró is approximately a 5-minute walk from the property. 7. Island has a great taxi service, easy to call and use. But if you don’t have access to “pix”, carry cash. Credit cards just at stores and restaurants. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be coming back!"

"This is the place to stay if you are looking for understanded comfort. The vibe is wonderful and the staff are perfectly attentive and helpful without being intrusive. They make all sorts of requests happen. Any challenges (a previous guest did not check out in time in my case), were handled very well. I do suggest that the swimming pool is cleaned a bit better, but it was otherwise as lovely as the rest of the property. I wish I could have stayed longer. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to slow their pace and enjoy this spectacular island. Thank you, Pousada Ze Maria"

"We had a wonderful stay at Vila Sal which coincided with my birthday and our anniversary. The staff were incredibly helpful from the outset, providing useful information and tips, supporting with excursions. Nothing was too much to ask. They even checked the sea conditions to help us choose which beach to visit. The stay felt very personalised, with notes and gifts in the room and staff always checking in with us to see if they could help improve our stay. Breakfast was delicious and à la carte. The açai bowl is a particular highlight! The room was comfortable and contemporary. The location is convenient being in the centre of the island with lots of dining options and the main evening entertainment options nearby. I would definitely recommend this hotel."

"A pousada é maravilhosa, desde antes de chegar o Rafa e Max já fizeram contato conosco e foram nos guiando para uma chegada tranquila. O checkin foi agradável com todas as informações claras. A estrutura é ótima, tudo novo, bem decorado, acolhedor, quartos organizados, com produtos de qualidade. Café da manhã delicioso, caprichado, muito bem apresentado e com muitas opções. Recomendo e retorno com certeza."

"Amazing place, they take care of everything for you, from picking you up from the airport, to booking trips, negotiating prices, moving your luggage and more. Breakfast is one of the best I have tried, better than most 5 stars in Europe, they plant their own food so it's all organic and fresh, with fresh juices, cake, croissants and a cooked a la carte menu include too. Rooms were clean and confortable, felt like home. You just try the restaurant, we were meant to eat there once or twice but ended up eating there a lot more because it was the best island. The staff was so kind a special thanks to Cintia, Marcela, Alyson and Higor. "
