"I booked a “suite” room that was showing as available on Hotels.com and was told that there weren’t really a “suite” room and it was just an extended room with a pull out couch which was no longer available and that there was ONLY ONE of those rooms. We had five people staying and there were only 2 towels so we went to front desk to ask about getting more towels and was told that they were out and they would need to go to the store to buy some. Next, my husband ran the water for my child to bathe and the tub wasn’t draining but it was clogged and black gunk was coming up. It smelled really bad and the tub was slow draining. The resolution here was that we were offered a different room on the second floor but it smelled heavily of smoke. We just decided to shower in there and sleep in the original room that was given to us. It looked like someone was still staying there - one bed was slightly undone, toilet seat and cover were up, trash in the bin and ashes on the floor. Lastly, the toilet stopped working in the middle of the night so we had to fill up the ice bucket with water to flush the toilet. The room floor weren’t clean, there were lots of hair and crumbs. I also like to utilize the fitness facility but it was unbearable with no working air conditioning and the room smelled heavily of rubber. This was a terrible experience. If you prefer price over quality, then this is the place for you. If you want quality, RUN!"

"The hotel was very clean and nice. We would love to stay there again but it’s doubtful we will. We were in town for a weekend that brought in a lot of tourism in Lexington. Because of that, we paid for one night what you typically pay for 3-4. No complaints on that- it is what it is. But when we checked in we asked for late check out. We were told that housekeeping is in charge of that and we would just need to tell them in the morning. We did so. Then the front desk told us that it was not available and the people the night before shouldn’t have said that. Poor training and bad customer service on their part. As I said, the hotel itself was fine and the area is nice. But so are a lot of other hotels in Lexington, with much friendlier and helpful staff."

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lexington South / Hamburg

"The property was clean and the people were friendly, but one of the reasons we chose this place was because they offered cribs and we're traveling with twin babies. It turns out, they actually have just one pack-and-play (they had two, but one is broken). We had to figure out how to make our own arrangements for them within the limited space of the room, which made for a miserable night having the path to the bathroom blocked by sleeping babies. Also the room stayed very humid and didn't get cool even when we turned the a/c down. When we went for breakfast this morning the fruit selection included a single brown banana and visibly moldy orange. I can't believe I spent hundreds of dollars for this stay."
