Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've prepared well enough. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Haute-Amance escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having an awesome travel experience is to pack ahead. Start with the essentials: passport, travel docs, bank cards and important medications. Next, bring on board items that'll help keep you entertained, like some electronic devices or a few magazines. It's also wise to bring your chargers, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs. Finally, don't forget to squeeze in toiletry items like a toothbrush, deodorant and a fresh set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and opt for shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Walk around the cabin and give your legs a stretch or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
