If you're not prepared, air travel can be challenging. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks for a trouble-free start to your time in Iquique. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a cruisy experience if you take the right things. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find a spot in your bag for your phone and charger, any vital medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items differs between airlines, the general rule of thumb is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, blades, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like hockey sticks, and objects that could harm passengers, such as pepper spray and guns, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main concern when choosing what to wear on your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a wise choice, as are roomy, closed-toe shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
