Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of handy tips that will get your Watampone holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you bring the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, any vital medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes knives, scissors, spray paint and flares. Sporting equipment like bows and arrows, and objects that could harm passengers, such as guns and swords, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of your airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and remember to bring a cardigan as it tends to get cool inside the cabin. Flat, enclosed shoes are also a sensible choice.
- Caused by sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers on long-haul flights. The good news is there are numerous ways to reduce the risk of developing it. Stay hydrated, walk around the cabin as often as you can and wear compression tights or socks.
