I rate this property 10 out of 10 for what it is. But people may dislike it for what it isn’t. It’s a jungle lodge. It’s in the jungle. If you don’t want to be awakened by howler monkeys at 5am, don’t stay here. If you want A/C or consistent electricity, don’t stay here. If you want WiFi in your room, don’t stay here. But if you want to stay in a clean, well kept property in the middle of the jungle with an attentive staff and great food that’s only steps away from one of the greatest Mayan cities of all time, stay here! It’s amazing!

Beautiful property. No AC due to limited electricity, so it gets hot. Hotel is in the jungle so you can expect scorpions and bugs at night.

We really liked staying at Jungle Lodge. The grounds, lobby, pool and room were all wonderful. It was nice to have easy access to a restaurant. The convenience and walkability to Tikal National Park was amazing and I’d stay here again if I were to come back. We enjoyed our Tikal tours and then lounging by the pool with a beer.

Right in the middle of the national park. It’s a beautiful setting. You can see monkeys (and hear them at night) and are lulled by the songs of birds. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We took a guided tour of Tikal with one of their guides, Reuben, and he was the best.

Exceeded expectations
Two nights that were great! Cannot get any closer to the Tikal park entrance. The restaurant was excellent. The pool area looked nice but it wasn’t warm enough outside to entice us in. Our room was close to the restaurant and our car and the pool. Bring a small flashlight as there is no power overnight and the room was pitch black without a flashlight. We will come back and refer our friends!

I was thrilled with my experience at the Jungle Lodge Hotel! The jungle setting was so beautiful and peaceful, and the hotel landscaping and property were immaculate. The service was top notch and we enjoyed the food in the restaurant. We would absolutely stay again.

The surrounding area was beautiful, and the hotel itself was laid out perfectly however the amenities were sub-par and the food was not good at all. Also the service was very slow and staff not attentive.

The property was perfect for being in the park. Would highly recommend if you are visiting the ruins. Staff was lovely, room was clean and comfortable. You have to be ready for on and off power, no tv but relaxing and no WiFi in the rooms. The WiFi in the lodge itself was great.

Loved this hotel. Suites were very nice. Large beautiful bathroom. Restaraunt was delicious and reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Stayed two nights. We were able to enjoy a Sunset tour and go on our own in the early morning, 6:30 AM, to enjoy the magnificence of Tikal. Also went on a day tour provided by Cayo Island Expedition in Belize. Enjoyed the staying in the jungle but in great comfort. Lack of air conditioning was not a problem. We were comfortable with the fans moving the air.

It is a nice place and really the only hotel option around. So you have no choice. I would recommend the hotel for sure. It is convenient to the entrance of the park. The staff are nice and helpful. I feel they could clean the rooms up a little better or provide more in-room amenities.

Keep in mind there's no AC on the rooms. Service was excellent, as expected meals and beverages were expensive, overall a nice place to stay in the middle of the jungle.

Well worth staying here if you are visiting Tikal. There is a restuarant which serves good reasonably priced food. Our room was nice and felt very private. We did the sunrise tour through the hotel which was great as there was no one else in the park when we went.

We stayed two nights at the Jungle Lodge, which is located right in the park, and you can walk to Tikal and see the ruins. The location was ideal. The lodge itself is nice, the rooms are decent, the restaurant serves good food, and the lobby is really nice, with a lot of different activities. They use a generator, so only have power at certain times, and the only place to use wifi is in the lobby. It was not a problem for us, and we welcomed the break from technology. If you want a real jungle/rainforest experience, this is the place to stay.

Wonderful hotel. Conveniently located. If you’re looking for cell reception to be glued to your electronics all day long, this isn’t the place for you. If you would like to disconnect and really take in what Mother Nature and Tikal has to offer then you will love this place. Please note: Rooms don’t have a/c but they have fans that make the humidity bearable. They offer free wifi in the hotel lobby only. There was a couple arguing with the hotel staff regarding their “lack of amenities” please do your research before booking any hotel. We are already planning our return and will definitely be staying at the jungle lodge again!

The facilities are very good, except for three things: there is no all-day power, there is no A/C in the rooms and it is so hot and humid that the fan does not help much, and there is no internet in the rooms. Food is excellent, pool is nice, rooms are spacious and nice.

Bucket list property! Located in the jungle, steps away from the entrance to Tikal, and it still is what I would consider higher-end in this region. Considering you’re in the jungle, the rooms are very clean and comfy. But there will be bugs. Everyone who seems upset by their stay didn’t read the info/reviews. Yes, electricity is off for a majority of the day/night. It’s honestly not an issue- the fan and outlet by the bed are still powered so you can charge your phone. The only time I found this inconvenient was getting ready at 3:30 am for the sunrise tour, but I had a phone with a light. There is no AC, I didn’t find it too hot but was used to traveling without AC in rainy season by the time I arrived. I would recommend to the property putting curtains/blinds on the bathroom window- mine looked directly into the toilet/glass shower from the pathway 15 ft from the window. I had to figure out how to strategically place a towel on the glass shower door and stay behind it while showering. I did both the sunrise and sunset tours organized through the front desk. It was only $15 USD each the entry tickets to the park. Neither sunrise or sunset had amazing views… the real benefit of these tours is to have the park to yourself, listening to the jungle waking up, you watch sunset from a different temple than sunrise so each tour visit different parts. Do book the shuttle 24 hours in advance for $15 USD or get extorted for $63 for a shared cab. Overall great experience!

We were really looking forward to our stay here. The hotel itself is beautiful and is a unique experience. Something you will not get in Los Angeles. I will address the pros first because it was not all bad. The location is convenient, within the park so you are really sleeping in the jungle. The "relaxing sounds" are real life from hearing the birds throughout the night from the monkeys in outrage. The best! hotel is beautiful, gives you a real jungle feeling from the lobby to the rooms. The restaurant was good from the food to the staff. the restaurant and the bar had the best customer service. Elizabeth, the bartender was exceptional and I truly appreciate her customer service. She should work the reception actually. Now the receptionists service was so poor we did not get to enjoy how beautiful it all was. I tried calling and messaging the hotel 48 hours in advance to secure transportation with no response only to be told later I had a "weird" flight and they couldn't accommodate me. I could go on and on with details but I wont. No need. the point is that for this being a high end hotel and high tourist attraction the level of hospitality is poor and that did hinder the experience for me and my family.

Early check in was not available so I asked where the pool was so we could go swim until it was time. She told where it was but failed to let us know the pool had been drained. Pool was one of the main reasons we booked there. Was given a paper with the hours of electricity. I have been to 34 countries and this is the first time where we only got a few hours of power. Unacceptable when paying almost $150! Wi-Fi doesn’t work in the rooms. Only in lobby , restaurant and pool area.

Horrible service ruined the whole experience.
The facility is absolute amazing, the grounds are gorgeous. Service is horrible! 2 plus hours to get through dinner Service. Front desk lady was rude when I checked in, rude during our stay, and rude when we checked out. Shower handle broke, there were a colony of ants living in our towels, the toilet also was stopped up. Everything about this placed screamed beautiful Luxury hotel but between the broken shower. The overflowing toilet the Nasty pool, and the horrible service it's really a 3 star hotel.
