COVID-19 has ushered in dramatic changes to how we travel. If you're planning an escape to Flores, the following tips will help you navigate the "new normal:"

• Find out the rules and restrictions in both your origin and destination. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so make sure you check before you lock in your flight.
• When you go through airport screening, keep your face mask on. You will be required to briefly lower it for identification purposes. Anyone refusing to wear a face mask may face civil penalties and may also be escorted from the terminal.

• TSA is now permitting passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on luggage. This will have to be removed from your bag for screening.
• Empty everything from your pocket, like your phone and wallet, and put them in your carry-on instead of the bins. This will minimize handling during screening.
• If you want to take food on the plane, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA agent will need to touch your carry-on bag or food container for inspection.
