"The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large and the balcony was nice, even though there was chipping paint on the floor. The pool was good altough the bar service was not operating. In fact, the bar was not staffed during the day which was an inconvenience while at the pool. The location is perfect. The shuttle service was an added plus. "

"The view was great, the room was very clean and nice. The staff were nice, but seemed untrained and completely unaware. One wait staff stopped everything to hunt for his cell phone (he was starting to make a drink at the time). We saw Easter brunch signs, so asked staff in the restaurant and they didn’t know when it started or if we needed reservations and neither did the front desk. At the bar someone may or may not serve you. The umbrellas at the pool kept falling over and were really heavy (one hit someone) We told one of the staff and she said, “and did you see how many towels people are using?”. They weren’t rude or not nice, it was kinda weird."

"Staff was amazing, very friendly, polite, and helpful. We really enjoyed all the areas they had for guests to sit, games were available for free as well. Beautiful view of the mountains and located within walking distance of restaurants and stores. My only complaint about the actual hotel was the limited lighting near the bathroom which is super minor and the pillows. I found the pillows to be uncomfortable. Staff were able to provide a few extra to help me out. We loved the mini bar set up by the pool. Pool:Unfortunately there was a large family that monopolized a few of the cabana beds and left for 3.5 hours during the day leaving their stuff on them and unused, with the pool being busy, many people were left without a spot to sit. Would definitely come back to the Dunes. "

"Our stay was fine. The hotel is an older property that has been updated with pretty decor, lots of instagrammable moments, etc. That said, there was one thing that really put me off about our 2 night stay. We had prepaid for the room before arriving. When we checked in they advised a hold would be put on my credit card for $200 ($100 for each night). Fine, that is normal. After the first night’s stay, I saw another $320 hold had been added. After our second and final night stay another $615 had been added. By the time we checked out, totalling up these holds, the hotel had put $1135 on hold on my credit card. We hadn’t purchased anything, got drinks, no food. I asked about it at reception and they told me ‘their system is weird’ and that ‘the holds will drop off in 7-10 business days’. Not a great explanation, I was irritated. I spent the next 7 days checking my credit card online, daily, to make sure the holds were released. Overall the stay was fine but if you need room on your credit card for other purchases watch out, they’ll add holds with abandon. 🙄"

"I stayed there over spring break, so it was fully booked. The check in took hours as they weren't done cleaning my room until well after check in time. pool closed at 8pm too early for our liking, no kids allowed at the jacuzzi, which was not stated on website and was very disappointing considering I went with kids. We went to shower after the pool and the SHOWER DID NOT WORK! The customer service started going down hill immediately. they sent a man who "fixed" it. it worked for one shower, and then broke again! I called and waited for the man to come back and he never showed. We went to dinner late and smelling like chlorine, very uncomfortable. we then came back late and tired and asked for the man to come fix the shower again but never showed again. They said he'd come 1st thing in the morning, never came. We left a complaint with Justin at the front desk since I was told that "the manager doesn't speak to customers". My brother and his family stayed there the same night and their air conditioning didn't work, same guy was sent to fix it, and complete lack of customer service, rude, and negligent. It looks nice from the pictures but the staff is rude, and the place is falling apart. Trust me and try elsewhere for a good time."

"My partner and I stayed in the Upper Stories where we were granted our request for a Mountain View facing the steeper San Jacinto mountains on the West side. It was definitely worth it and special thanks to Concierge Verne for looking out on this request. One drawback: no bar service at the pool for Upper Stories (no plan to bring it back anytime soon either according to my convo with bar at Lola Rose) so we basically only did the Main pool which was the most spectacular and scenic experience, but get there early like 9-10 am early to save seats Thi-Sat. Sun was more mellow and seats do open up again around 3. Everything from the DJs on Saturday and Sunday to the bartenders and servers and manager Maurice was just top notch. Big props to Abel who took such great care of us over our 5 day stay. Really the service here was like icing on the cake and the entire stay exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend. If you’re torn between Upper Stories and main areas, the Main resort has rooms with great views too just not as many to my knowledge. If you can get a view in the main area, take the energy unless you just want totally quiet do Upper Stories. Pool there is great if you plan to be sober or want to carry Togo cups back and forth from the Lola Rose bar just a short walking distance away. Oh and food btw, really damn good. Nice selection of pool side bites. Lola Rose was great for quick pre-drinks and healthy apps before dinner and Bar Issi downstairs has the best happy hour. "

"The hotel is clean, the staff was friendly, and the hotel is located in the prime location near dining and nightlife options. However, light sleepers should know that bars nearby are loud and easily heard by hotel patrons both in and outside of the hotel rooms. If you can handle that, then I recommend this hotel. "
