Former Town Hall of Nieuwer-Amstel

The Pestana Amsterdam Riverside Hotel did not disappoint. I arrived early and they held my luggage and let me freshen up in the spa bathroom. My room ended up being ready at 130pm which was a nice surprise. The food and drinks at the hotel restaurant, for breakfast and dinner, was delicious. I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the espresso machine. I had the Superior Terrace room and I loved the terrace. I sat outside and enjoyed the bird songs. It was unusually hot the length of my stay and the AC was not strong enough. The room being on the top floor with the balcony glass doors created an comfortably hot environment by late afternoon through the evening. I rented a bike one day for €20 and ride around all day. That evening I was getting tight from riding around and was able to book a massage within the hour. The massage was fantastic perfect blend of deep tissue and swedish techniques. I didn't use the sauna or pool there was a couple with a happy little toddler that didn't jive with the relaxing state I was in. There is a bus ~4 min walk, a coffeeshop ~2 min, late night food spots and a bar open til 4A all within walking distance. I enjoyed being further away from Jordaan or de wallen. It alllowed me to see more of the city. I would definitely recommend.
