Quiet getaway in the White Mountains

The house, which was very clean, comfortable and well equipped, was situated within the complex as to provide a lot of privacy and quiet. It was also a convenient distance from the White Mountain National Forest. Were I to visit the area again, I would not hesitate to stay here. The only glitch was the code for the keyless entry did not work, and it took about an hour for the site manager to respond back with the code for the lock box. The remote for the gas fireplace did not work properly and was difficult to use.

Wonderful Get Away

Background: We stayed in mid-october with the goals of hiking and "leaf peaping". House was conveniently located close to Franconia downtown and a short drive to Franconia Notch State Park, Cannon Mountain, and several other picturesque New Hampshire towns. Home was 'as advertised'. It was comfy, cozy and has a nice open layout to gather with family inside during bad weather. The outdoor space has plenty of porch/deck space with great views. Plenty of amenities and Wi-fi was more than enough for streaming tv and using other devices.

Overall it was great. It was cozy once the house heated up and beautiful. One of the reasons for 4 star is the temperature of the house was 55 degrees when you arrive. It is a smart thermostat so they could have it warmer for when you arrive. They tell you to turn the heat down when you leave but it turns down automatically at checkout-10:00. The outside smelled like sewer. It was stocked well with pots and pans but hard to find one we felt comfortable using since they were all scratched, burnt, or worn out. They need new pans. The rooms were spacious and thankfully, there were plenty of blankets.

Lovely Cabin

We enjoyed our time in the Franconia cabin. Although it isn’t fancy, it is clean and comfortable. The rustic vibe fit well with our personalities and desire to get away from a fast-paced work life. The wrap-around porch was a real treat! The weather was hot and humid during our stay. We appreciated having access to fans, since the house does not have central AC. Hope to return to Franconia soon!
