A Tex-Inn | Country-Inspired Cabin for 2

*Please be aware that the bathroom has a whirlpool tub with a handheld shower. There is not a walk-in shower.*

This little 1890's carriage house is found just two blocks south of Main Street on the west part of town is cozy, romantic and comfortable. Located next door to the homeowner, this one room house is perfect for that romantic getaway. Although there are many Texas accents throughout the cabin, there is also an elegance and softness throughout.

Inside is a kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator and Keurig coffeemaker. An old chuck wagon finds a new life as an open cabinet for storage and doubles as the dining table. Two stools are perfect for enjoying a stay-in meal for two.

The queen bed with the “star” headboard is found in the middle of the room with the mattress sitting high off the floor- but for your convenience there is a stool to make getting in and out of the bed a little easier! On one side of the bed is a cabinet with the cable television and DVD player and the other side of the bed has an armoire for storing clothes during your stay. The bathroom is a wonderful enchantment with the large whirlpool tub and handheld shower. It is truly designed for that romantic evening we all are looking forward to.

Just outside the bedroom is a small patio for guests to enjoy. During the spring and summer the blooms and greenery from the yard will surely delight your senses and create another reason to relax and enjoy!

It was cozy. Just need to make sure coffee make is clean next time. Couldn't make coffee. Other than that we enjoyed it very much. Comfortable bed.

We enjoyed the cozy little carriage house located in the historic neighborhood. Close to town yet far enough away from Main Street. We met the owner and he was very friendly and helpful when the cable stopped working. He fixed it immediately.

Outstanding cottage

A Tex-Inn is wonderful. Private quiet street. Just enough beautiful furniture and the drive is off of the street. This is my second time to stay and I will stay again. I feel safe and comfortable being there. Close to Main Street and HEB. The cottage is beautiful and comfortable. Everyone is so nice.

Easy check in, clean place and was a comfortable stay. It's a studio so keep that In mind but it's still a nice place. Gastenhaus was good to work with and communication was good. The only thing not communicated was the parade that was going to go on that evening and all of the roads were blocked off , so it wasn't the easiest place to find because of having to park several blocks away to check in the office. Anyway it's not a dealbreaker, just something to keep in mind.

WONDERFUL!

Comfortable Accomodations and Decor

We were comfortable and enjoyed the old farm decor. The location was convenient to everything. The only thing we missed was breakfast goods. We are used to breakfast coupons for local dining or pastries from local bakeries.

Always Awesome

A Tex Inn is conveniently located near all the Main St events in Fredericksburg. It's a charming, cozy, comfortable little cottage that's perfect for a weekend getaway or a longer stay. We were there for the Christmas festival and loved every minute! A highlight was the huge whirlpool bath after long days of shopping and eating ! Thanks for another great time in Fredericksburg!

The room was nice. A nice seating area would help instead of the decorative table/hutch which takes up valuable space. More privacy in the backyard is needed away from the owner and pet. We couldn't enjoy early morning coffee in our PJs with him and his pretty pet in the backyard.

The house was great and very comfortable. The only negative that we encountered was the lack of water pressure. There was a terrific jet tub but there would never have been enough time to fill it up! Basically the jet tub was useless. Other than that, we loved our stay.

Awesome Stay!

We have been coming to Fredericksburg for more than 26 years and we try different guest houses just to take in some variety. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had a last-minute change of location and A Tex-Inn worked perfectly. The house was clean and ready when we needed it (at a short-term notice) and the private parking was ideal for us (we could park right in front of the entry door). The bed was comfortable, and we were able to watch the Astros in the World Series on the TV that was available. We were grateful for Gastehaus Schmidt working the arrangement out for us and the owner of A Tex-Inn accommodating us.
