Peace & Quiet

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the hotel! The location on West Main Street was very convenient to shops and restaurants. We would stay again if available on our next visit.

"Peace & Quiet" Cottage worked for us!

Our stay here was relaxing and enjoyable! Very comfortable bed and furniture that we looked forward to coming back to after a day in the historic district shopping and walking to see all the sights Fredericksburg has to offer. Love this town!

On Main Street but away from the crowds! We loved the pool on a hot afternoon and the fact that there weren’t splashing kiddos since it is adults only. We will book this location again for sure

Quiet and Convenient

This was our 3rd time to stay at Main Street Retreat. We have stayed in a different cottage each time. Nice and comfortable and conveniently close to downtown. I will say that the towel racks need to be fixed in bathroom but other than that it was really nice. We will definitely stay again.

Absolutely charming!!

What a perfect little retreat in a perfect location—just off Main Street in Fredericksburg, yet we heard no traffic when in our cottage. The bed was super comfortable with high quality bedding. Loved the double vanity in the bathroom as well as the large step-in shower! Would have been nice to have some usb ports, but overall we were very pleased!

Very Cute

The room was really cute and clean with the exception of the shower. The drain needed to be cleaned out so we were standing in water. It was a very comfortable stay.

Main Street Retreat

Absolutely loved this single room hotel, it is perfect for two people and is right off of Main street which is convenient. Just a few things that prevented me from giving an extra star. The shower had a slow drain so the whole time you’re standing in a couple inches of water, since my stay was two nights, I chose not to reach out to try to get another room. There was also left over solidified soap in the shower from the previous guest who used the soap bar. A towel hook was loose and I would bring an extra pillow as the pillows are very flat even when stacked. The AC in the room worked great and the bed was very comfortable. I would stay at this retreat again(:

Great property!

Loved the "Peace & Quiet". Very clean, and roomy for two, and decorated very well. Only suggestion would be a full length mirror somewhere. We would definitely stay at Main Street Retreat again. We enjoyed the cabin, the pool and the location. The pool area was very clean and inviting. The only con is that there is no assigned parking, and parking was very full this past weekend. We mostly used Uber around town, but talked to others who had to park quite a distance away. Not a huge deal, as there is also street parking, but could be an issue when packing/unpacking vehicle. Since my husband just had shoulder surgery, that would have been an issue if we had not snagged the spot we did close to our unit. Numbered parking spots would great since not all renters only have one vehicle. We did have an issue with our A/C cutting off, but given the unprecedented temperatures, not surprising. It was in the morning, and room stayed cool. We were checking out, so I called the 24 hour number and reported it. Absolute Charm answered promptly and were going to send maintenance. We were checking out that day, so we requested he wait until we left. It actually started working perfectly again in about an hour. Nice to know they answer promptly if case of any issue, even on a Sunday. Recommend Main Street Retreat and Absolute Charm. We will be back.

Absolutely Charming and Cozy

This cottage is absolutely cozy! Easy drive to get closer to “town” but close enough to walk if you would like. Staff was super friendly and quick to respond to messages.

Nice cozy place

Everything was good except the hot tub did not work. It would not get hot. I talked to some of the other patrons staying there about it and they said it hasnt work the whole time they had been there. I was very disappointed about this as we brought our swim suits and was the reason i booked this location.

Same old code, anyone can break in!

I raised this same issue with you last year after our stay. We will not stay here again unless this issue is fixed. The units at MSR are not safe! The use of door access codes that do not change and are very predictable INVITES theft or worse! Apparently, since the same door access code was used this year as last, the door codes don't change. SO, ANYONE CAN BREAK IN TO ANY UNIT. Plus, when inside your unit and with the deadbolt thrown, the DOOR CODE OVERRIDES THE DEADBOLT AND ALLOWS ACCESS! This is unsafe! Absolute Charm can and should be held liable if you don't do something to fix this.

Needs to be better

First the fireplace didn't work (dead battery?), and the toilet rocks back and forth (needs to be secured to floor). MOST IMPORTANT: SECURITY COMPROMISED- we were part of a group that renter 3 units, the little box on the exterior wall showed what each of our door codes were so anyone passing by could see and potentially get in our rooms. Plus, the codes were very predictable, all were “24##” with the ## being our room numbers. Come on - was this thought up be a 6 year old!

Quaint

Quaint little room with just enough space for two. I wish the driveway/parking was paved as it rained quite a bit during our stay. The pool and hot tub were great and not over crowded even though there were many guests during our stay. Comfortable beds amd plenty of hot water. We would definitely stay again.

Cute little place to stay

My husband and I rented one of these cottages for our 1 year anniversary trip. Quite place and cute room. Comfy bed. Only negative for us was: is if you are staying for a lengthy time as we did.. 5 nights....there are no dressers or anything with ample drawer space to unpack your clothes. Yes there is a “closet” that had 4 hangers and a shelf above the hanging rod but I prefer to put my Tshirts, shorts, undergarments, etc. in a drawer. They provide plenty of towels but there is no daily maid service..which was fine but the grit/sand from the crushed gravel driveway (after it rained) came in with us and left the wood floors gritty and dirty. I kept wishing I had a broom to sweep. We did enjoy the hot tub and overall we recommend this place just giving a heads up to anyone staying an extended stay.

Would have rather stayed literally anywhere else.

So bad first, Dirt parking lot so if it rains like it did for us it becomes a giant sandy muddy mucky mess. trash and old rotting fruit in the parking lot. all units have motion sensor lights that once on stay on for 15 min and shine inside the windows. parking lot is lit by at least 5 extremely bright LED spotlights that shine directly in windows and light up entire unit. there are no curtains of any kind only blinds so there is no way to block out light. Good luck sleeping at all. Wife and I were furious about this and weren't able to get a single full night's rest. Units are right off the main street so expect engine noise and occasional loud music. Shower would not drain it would back up to ankle depth for entire shower and very long curly black hair would begin to crawl out of the drain couldn't relax in a long hot shower (disgusting to try and stand in) ended up just jumping in and getting out asap. Fire place is a cheap electric remote control thing (remote rarely works) we had heat at highest setting blowing highest possible and you could only feel some heat if you stood 8 inches or closer to the vent, any further and you wouldn't feel a thing. All furniture is cheap pressed wood ikea type stuff bed edges were scratched and chipped one looked like a dog or a teething infant got ahold of it. Minor details like mirrors, signs, and pictures were not hung even or level. Towel rack is cheap careful taking towels off rack it will fall apart on you. Bring your own TP unless you like single ply 120 grit sandpaper. Caulking around bathroom sinks and counters was all broken away from the wall and peeling just looked terrible. Now good, Check-in was great and easy. Finding location was simple, location was close enough for very easy drive to main attractions Bed was extremely comfortable. TV worked. Basically save your money and stay at a motel or spend the same amount and stay literally anywhere else you can find. Extremely disappointed with our stay and will not be staying at this location or with this rental company again. Will be posting reviews to social media, yelp, google, and any other locations possible. Waste of hard earned money and a very long drive.
