Downtown Freeport Barn'acle

Enjoy the quintessential charm of coastal Maine at The Barn'acle– a newly renovated two-bedroom nestled in the heart of Freeport. Transformed from a historic barn, embrace the tranquility of a quiet dead-end street while being just steps away from downtown. Note this is a duplex; we share the attached home with a driveway and patio.

Step inside and feel immediately at home with modern comforts in every corner. The Barn'acle promises a truly memorable stay with ~1,000 sq. feet of living space!

This recently finished, brand-new beautiful space has a full kitchen, living room space, one enclosed bedroom, and one large open master bedroom with skylights, a walk-in closet, and a full bathroom with a brand-new washer and dryer. The kitchen also has brand-new appliances.

We live in the attached house next door, and share a driveway and patio. We are friendly :) and always happy to provide suggestions during your visit to the area.

Other Notes: The house abuts the Amtrak Downeaster line, which swiftly passes a few times daily. If you're REALLY sensitive to sound and a very light sleeper, keep this in mind BEFORE booking.

We live in the attached house, share a driveway and patio, and have a friendly dog. If you're bringing a dog, let us know if yours is friendly and open to meeting Jett, who may otherwise be occasionally wandering around outside in search of some good sun or his ball.

The Barn'acle is very comfortable and clean, located on a quiet street but so close to town and stores we could walk everywhere. Aside from needing a few more hooks for wet jackets and rods for towels, the owners have provided things for a pleasant stay. We would like to return sometime.

The Barn'acle was an exceptional place to stay. The unit itself was far more spacious than we anticipated and was perfect for the 5 of us (one infant) who stayed there. The unit is clearly well cared for, recently updated and renovated, and very clean. The welcome from the host and their instructions and recommendations where a huge help is us navigating the best options to explore and go to in downtown Freeport. The accessibility to the town and having all of that within walking distance to the unit was also a HUGE plus. I would strongly recommend staying here if you're looking for a long weekend away and want close proximity to all that Freeport has to offer!

The Barn’acle was very cute, quaint, and clean. The beds were comfortable and we had all the accommodations we needed for a three night girls trip. The neighborhood felt safe and was very close to the downtown shops and restaurants. We were within walking distance of just about everything we needed. The host was very quick to respond to my messages. I would recommend this place if you’re going to Freeport!
