"The pousada was homey and comfortable. The colored bungalows made it feel a bit like a sleepaway camp and the home cooking made it feel like staying with a family. Great place if you're not looking for anything too upscale and are happy with mellow vibes. The grounds are beautifully kept and there's a nice, small pool. It's isolated on its' own more remote part of the island, but it's a short walk out to the dock to hop on a boat and explore the other wonders of Ilha Grande. "

"This is a lovely hotel with friendly staff and clean rooms. We enjoyed our stay overall but were disturbed by noises from 4am every morning (possibly because we were placed on the floor below the restaurant/entertainment area) and also construction noises from 8am every day of our 5 night stay. "This is a lovely small hotel. At first I thought I was missing out by not being in the town, but this was SOOO much better - quiet, beautiful, with hiking and beaches near by. They went out of their way to be helpful (rescuing me when I got lost on a hike). The only small suggestion I would make is that they should allow guests to fill up water bottle with their filtered water to save on unnecessarily using plastic bottles (or at least sell large bottles of water). "
