Great hotel - something a bit different
Fantastic hotel - outside of the city centre but very quick by taxi and we walked back which was a nice 20-30 minute stroll......lovely room - great staff - nice outdoor terrace - couldnt fault it

Best hotel in Freiburg
I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. The location was great. The hotel and room was spotless, the staff was impeccable and all for a decent price. I look forward to staying there many times.

Friendly staff and service! Room was very clean. Only complaint is the pillows were a bit on the flat side (easily remedied by putting 2 together).

Average hotel. Would stay again.
Friendly receptionist upon arrival had me checked in quickly. Room furniture looks new but has a cheap laminate look. Dinnner was great, chef did a good job. Table service was a bit slow. I'd book again for a business stay.

OK for overnight stop.
Perfectly acceptable for a 1 night stay, spotlessly clean and functional rooms but feels very clinical. Checkin and checkout was also performed efficiently but without any friendliness. Location is it's worst point as it is at least a 25 minute walk to the city centre and 20 minutes to the train station, and the area around it has no bars and restaurants at all.

Modern hotel a short tram ride from city center
Hotel Stadt is very new - sleekly modern, reasonably priced. Excellent buffet breakfast, efficient & helpful multi-lingual staff. The tram stop is almost at the front door, and buying multi-ride tickets is easy. The restaurant may be understaffed - took 15 minutes from ordering sorbet to getting it served. Overall, a very good value.

We stayed 1 night, a stop-over on our way to Italy. It was a hotel that was run in a perfect way with very nice and very professional staff. The fresh brwon bread in the breakfast buffet was one of the best I ever ate. The room was very functional (good lighting, comfortable seats), the bed linnen impeccable (real duvet). The bathroom was rather small. We liked the personal touch, it almost felt like staying at your friends' place.

A nice and friendly hotel
I had booked two superior doubles and was told that both had been arranged to have 1 X king size bed and 1x sofa bed. Unfortunately only 1 had this arrangement and coupled with the fact one room was on the 7th floor and the other on the 3rd floor made it difficult for our family (4 adults and 3 children under 5). A hotel pool would have been a great addition.

Beautiful new hotel
I loved this hotel! The staff were very helpful. They responded to various requests quickly and with a smile. The food was excellent in the restaurant. The breakfasts were also quite good. The room had modern furnishings. The bathroom had a great shower and plenty of room. There were two seperate place hang clothing and plenty of hangers. The room safe was easy to use. I like to walk and also to explore an area using public transportation. There is a tram stop in front of the hotel. Many times I walked from the hotel to the main train station as it was only a 15-20 minute walk. There is a great bike path system and bike lanes are right in front of the hotel. They have decent bikes for rent at a reasonable price. This is a truly excellent hotel and I highly recommend it.

The location is on the outskirts of the city, seven tramstops from the middle. It is about as close as anybody can get with a car, as the city centre is pedestrianised and parking is a nightmare. We mistook the hotel for one with a similar name, and so thought we would be closer to the city. However, it is very competently run and would suit families and business guests.

Bussiness stay
This was the second time I stayed in this hotel. Rooms are comfortable and clean and the area is very quiet. Also about 20 min on foot from the train station. Downside is that I found it a bit pricy.

Service was ok on reception (but poor in the restaurant). Hotel was nice enough, quite clinical in appearance, could have been warmer in terms of decoration etc - everything was white. Room was reasonably comfortable. Good for a short stay, wouldn't want to be there fore more than 3 nights.
