About this property
Regilturm Vacation Apartment in the Heart of Fritzlar with a Balcony and Garden, Sleeps 1–5
Holiday apartment with antique charm (Gründerzeit and Art Nouveau furniture) in the centre of Fritzlar, offering views stretching for kilometres across the idyllic countryside, next to the historic city wall and the Regilturm, a 5-minute walk to the market square, with the Kuturscheune and restaurants just around the corner, sunny balcony, access to the garden, and barbecue facilities.
The apartment is located in an old half-timbered house that was built after the war on the site of the original horse stable and carriage garage of a Fritzlar family of mill owners, at a time when the family’s Gründerzeit villa was being used as a base by American occupying forces. The landlady (a descendant of this family) lives on the upper floor; the ground floor consists of the holiday apartment (with a separate entrance from the garden) and a restoration workshop. Parking is available in the courtyard for an additional fee of approximately €10 per day.
The holiday rental was completed just this year, 2025, following the renovation of both bathrooms and the front door, and serves as a cosy, comfortable, and elegant retreat for 1–5 people. It is very centrally located, so you can walk to Fritzlar’s market square in about five minutes, where you can admire the beautiful medieval half-timbered houses, Germany’s oldest town hall, and the famous Fritzlar Cathedral with its cathedral treasury. Numerous restaurants, snack bars, and bakeries, as well as the tourist information office, are all within easy reach in the immediate vicinity. Heading south and west, you’ll quickly find yourself in the countryside, passing the historic Ursuline Convent on your way to the old stone bridge and the famous Malereck, the outdoor swimming pool, surrounded by hiking trails, playgrounds, and the Ederauen Bike Path. By car, you can reach Lake Eder in 20 minutes. You can also comfortably reach Lake Eder by bike in about 2 hours via an idyllic route (along the Mühlengraben and the Eder River) without any significant inclines. There are also several small swimming lakes to the south offering water sports. The apartment is accessed via a separate entrance from the garden. There is a hallway with a coat rack and mirror, a bedroom with a double bed and a single bed (Note: There is only 1 bedroom!), a living and dining room with a sofa that pulls out into a double bed (1.60 m wide), a large bathroom with a walk-in shower in Moroccan style, and a rustic-style kitchen with a stove/oven. All rooms offer a stunning view of the green countryside. Furnished with loving attention to detail and antique flair (Gründerzeit and Art Nouveau furniture), the apartment invites you to linger no matter the weather. In the evenings, you can stargaze on the large balcony overlooking the garden or (for a small additional fee) fire up the grill and make yourself comfortable in the garden among the rosebeds and fruit trees. When the weather is nice, that holiday feeling comes naturally here. There is free Wi-Fi, as well as a TV with cable and a CD player. Bed linens and small towels are, of course, provided and included in the price. Two wardrobes are available for use. Pets are not allowed. Breakfast is not provided. You can reserve a parking space for a fee of €10 per night.
I would be delighted to welcome you here!
Check-in is between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., and check-out is between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
