We had a wonderful time at this beautiful property. Communication with hosts was excellent; very responsive. Our pup enjoyed lots of off-leash walks since we had so much property to ourselves. We enjoyed the views of the foliage through the many, many windows. The house itself was very comfortable.
The home and grounds are beautiful- just as advertised. Very neat and clean. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet, especially while in the hot tub. I would highly recommend.
The property and house are absolutely gorgeous! The rooms are open, beautifully decorated and filled with natural light. The view from every window is stunning and the house is well stocked and private. The house location is fantastic - 15 minutes from Shenandoah River National Park and 25 minutes to the Front Royal entrance of Shenandoah National Park. It exceeded our expectations and we will definitely return!
My sons and I thoroughly enjoyed our time in this beautiful home. The hosts thought of everything to make the retreat as stress-free and peaceful as possible. Highly recommended and hope to return.
We loved the huge windows, fireplaces and so much open space. There were several places to hike nearby, we especially enjoyed the trail along the Shenandoah River.
What an amazing property to bring a family to. We enjoyed relaxing and getting out exploring the park. Watching the shorting stars at night was amazing. We would definitely stay here again!
This was the perfect New Year getaway from the city! The hosts were very responsive and friendly! The house was absolutely breathtaking! We will definitely book again!
We had a wonderful stay with 2 families (including 3 kids under 4 and under). The house is so beautiful & there is such great space for hanging out and relaxing. In particular, it was great to have the 2 bedrooms and open area on the first floor, 2nd floor with great space to hang out and socialize together, & 3rd floor with a stunning primary suite. It was just what we needed to spend quality time with friends and soak in the peaceful mountain air.
We had a fantastic stay at this lovely home. From the moment we arrived, we could tell it was exceptionally clean and cozy, with so many thoughtful touches and surprises throughout the house. The kitchen was well-stocked, and there were plenty of amenities that made our stay feel extra special. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub after a day of exploring, and our dog loved having the fenced yard to run and play safely. It was the perfect spot for both relaxation and fun.Highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming place to stay. We would absolutely come back again!
This house was perfect for our trip! There was plenty of space and the privacy was amazing. It is a beautiful home! Everything was exactly as it was described and the hosts were very easy to contact and quick to reply. We are looking forward to staying here again!
If you're looking for a wonderful house for you and your family, this is it! Great location and plenty of room to spread out and enjoy. The owners are great and accommodating. Stay here and have a blast.

This property was the perfect place for our large family to gather for Thanksgiving. The house is beautiful, well stocked and well appointed. Thank you Amanda and Lyndsey for sharing this special place with us. We enjoyed the beautiful rural area and especially the hot tub!! Everyone wants to come back!
The property was clean and everything was labeled for us to help us find everything. They had toys for my small children to play with which they loved. Outside the property everything was clean as well. Enjoyed our stay with no issues.
My family enjoyed this beautiful property with an abundance of windows showcasing the surrounding trees and nature. We loved venturing out to the nearby trails, state park, scenic Skyline Drive, and beautiful Christendom College. But we also spent a good portion of our time at the house. The rain did not stop us from making the most of the well-supplied kitchen and the comfort of the living areas where we played games and enjoyed family time.
We had such a wonderful stay. The most comfortable beds ever and the place was perfect for our small group. (would accommodate many more). Our dogs loved playing in the fully fenced yards (yes there are 2) and exploring along the grounds. We came at the perfect time to see all the leaves changing colors. We didn't go out much but it was nice having the piece of mind that if we needed anything stores were not far away.
Fifteen years since we had all been under one roof and our location could not have been more perfect. The main floor's open plan allowed for lounging during rainstorms, dinner on the porch on a warm spring night and plenty of room to cook and enjoy each other's company. Sleeping arrangements were comfortable and fit early and late risers alike. We took advantage of the local wineries, a few easy hikes, the infrared sauna and the hot tub. Lyndsey and Amanda were very responsive to our questions and inquiries. Thank you for a wonderful time and sharing your home to reconnect.
The place resembles nothing so much as a small modern castle in modestly remote woods. It was a perfect pre- Christmas retreat for my loved ones and me, though I am anxious to rent it during warmer weather to fully take advantage of all the outdoor space. Retreat us a good word for it...it felt like there were no other humans within a few miles, Nonetheless, plenty of stores and restaurants were within a 25-30 min drive. Other notes:Wifi was excellentKitchen was well stockedHost communication was excellent, with a minor issue quickly resolved.Beds were very comfortable
Our stay at this beautiful home in the mountains was exceptional for both me and my energetic pup. The home combined rustic charm with modern comforts, while the securely fenced yard gave my dog freedom to explore. Thoughtful touches like dog blankets and wine made us feel welcome. Amanda was very responsive and a delight to chat with!Days were filled with nature walks where my dog investigated every scent with boundless enthusiasm. Evenings found us relaxing by the TV or fireplace, my exhausted but happy companion snoozing beside me on the couch. What made this getaway truly special was how genuinely pet-welcoming it felt. My dog wasn't just accommodated but celebrated as a valued guest. We left refreshed, with one wagging tail and a promise to return soon.
Excellent location, close to Front Royal, yet with a feeling of seclusion due to the large property. Well-appointed, with all the amenities, very comfortable and well maintained. The weather was very warm and humid but there appeared to be a lack of rain leading to low water levels in the river, nobody controls the weather, so just our luck. We saw lots of deer, hiking was tough given the weather and the ticks but we still managed a few decent hikes and saw a lot of birds. Also close to DC (1.5 hr drive) so we made a couple of day trips to see the sights. All in all we had a great itme.
You will never find a more peaceful and quiet house/location. Waking up with the sun and enjoying the expansive deck watching the sun rise over the trees at this beautiful home is must during your stay. Taking a walk down the driveway to what is seemingly a road that you can walk for miles on and never see a car. Venture off on a hiking trail into the national forest if you have the energy and time. Incredible kitchen to cook large family meals when you get back in the evening. The backyard space is a relaxation paradise after a long day. The huge fenced in yard was perfect to let our dog run and explore with no worries of him wandering off. We can’t wait to plan our next trip here.
The house itself was beautiful, very clean, well kept, and just as pictured. The owners were responsive and quick to answer any of my questions, which I appreciated. We also enjoyed the location. There’s a nice little town nearby, and Washington, D.C. was only a short drive away to catch the metro into the city. The property felt private and secluded, which was exactly what we were looking for.We were disappointed to find that while the website advertised a fire pit, the house rules on-site said renters could not use it.The biggest frustration, though, was the fees. We paid cleaning and pet fees upfront. The listing states the price includes all fees with no hidden charges, so we were surprised to be contacted after checkout and asked for an additional fee for excessive pet hair and cleaning, especially since we vacuumed thoroughly before leaving and followed all care instructions provided. With cleaning and pet fees already charged, this felt like a hidden or double fee.Overall, the home itself was wonderful, but the restrictions on listed amenities, and surprise fees after the fact really took away from the experience.
Chose this VRBO because it was pet friendly but also in the vicinity of the national park. We decided to elope in the park with our family and then used our Vrbo to have dinner with everyone to celebrate. Very nice property, the fenced in yard was perfect for our pup to be apart of the celebration!
