Laurel’s Log Lodge is a spacious 4 bedroom/3.5 bath home is perfect for groups of all types… friends, families, ladies’ getaways, golfers, historians, explorers, wedding goers, gamers,
hikers, relaxers and the list goes on! The home offers two large bedrooms on the upper level each with a queen bed, TV, and sitting area. There is one full bath on this level and a loft with desk and printer for your use. The main level hosts the master suite with king bed, TV, and private full bath. Also on the main floor is a living/gathering room, kitchen and dining area, and half bath. The lower level features a bedroom with queen bed and TV, full bath, and recreation area including billiards and ping pong, game table, kids play area, and a TV lounge with large screen TV. Just outside the recreation area is a large outdoor deck with room to spread out and enjoy nature at it’s finest. Up a few stairs and enter the screened porch for an all-season hot tub experience!

This home is a seven-minute drive to the Galena Territory Association Owners’ Club and all it’s fabulous amenities! On your way to enjoying the many Owners’ Club activities such as indoor and outdoor pools, fitness center, large game room, gym, tennis, basketball and pickleball courts, stop and have a peek at Thunder Bay Falls. If there has been recent rain the falls may just be gushing!

Within the Galena Territory you can enjoy the day or an hour if that is all you have to spare, on Lake Galena! Fishing boats, pontoon boats, and kayaks are seasonally available for rental from the marina. The lake offers great fishing, beautiful vistas, and incredible bird and waterfowl watching. Or head over to the Shenandoah Riding Center where there is an array of fun opportunities including trails rides, lead rides for young beginners, and special events throughout the year.

A ten-minute drive will have you on Galena’s historic downtown Main Street where you can shop, dine, join a tour or activity, indulge in beer or wine tastings, learn a variety of different crafts, spend the day being pampered at a local spa, or just people watch the day away!

Every part of our stay was easy and as-per-plan. Helpful “managers.” Spacious and spotlessly clean home, with everything exactly as we’d hoped and anticipated (not always the case!). Comfortable beds. Kind provision of shampoo, conditioner and body wash (Could use a handrail for getting into the master bath-). Various perks and amenities. Beautiful neighborhood, convenient to Galena. Highly recommend this home!

Great house to stay in. The finished basement really makes the house sizable. Really close all the golf courses. Would stay here again.

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay at this rental! Everything was exactly as described and we had everything we needed for our stay. The home is very close to downtown Galena. We enjoyed the area…the scenery with the rolling hills is beautiful!

Spacious Property

Came here for our annual girls trip. All 6 of us had our own sleeping space. Check in/out was very simple. The rooms were all very large and spacious. There was ample sitting areas located outside and around the house. We would definitely consider returning to this home.

Private setting, enjoyed hot tub on site and Galena Territory pool. Rooms were comfortable. Has a nice gathering area in the upstairs living room and also in the lower level recreation area. Close to Galena.

Awesome Cousins Vacation

We had an amazing stay. Wonderful vacation home perfect for cousins gathering to spend the week together. Communication from property manager was truly incredible and helpful throughout. Went above and beyond! Galena is a great family vacation spot and we loved it. Would definitely recommend!

Girls Trip

This property was perfect for our girls weekend in Galena. The house was clean and had plenty of room for all 9 of us girls. The hot tub and the fire pit were absolutely amazing and we spent a lot of time there! We would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again!

Gameroom in Galena Rocks!

The gameroom at this home was a hit with our younger guests, freeing up time for the adults to visit. The large hottub also was also hit. Everyone in our party would rebook this very large home for another mini-reunion.

Gorgeous property, serene yet lots to do!

The Laurel Lodge was a perfect amount of space for us and our 4 grown children. We loved the large kitchen table, perfect for game nights. We cooked in the well-appointed kitchen and were able to pack light with the full laundry. We had enough space in the entryway to store our golf bags inside without them being in the way. We spent some time every night playing pool or ping pong, and relaxing in the screened-in hot tub. But my favorite part was the quiet area we were in…every morning I started my day with quiet time on the large porch, reading, stretching, crocheting. Ginger and Kristin were great communicators, too, with quick responses to my many questions leading up to our stay. It was fantastic! 100% recommend!

Girls weekend

Accommodations were as listed. Home had plenty of beds for 7. Clean and cozy. We took advantage of the hot tub and grilled dinner in one night. Check in/out was easy. Response time to our inquiries was quick. Would definitely recommend.

Winter Adventure in Galena

Great accommodation for Galena trip!!!The cabin was very cold upon arrival and warmed relatively quickly. A 3.5 bath home and unable to use one of full baths because of frozen pipes. However, Great kitchen. Excellent communication with property owner. Clean hot tub. Comfortable beds. Would definitely return!

Perfect Girls Weekend

We had a great stay here for a girls weekend in Galena! Plenty of room for our group of 6 and all of the amenities we needed for a fun and relaxing time. We loved hanging out in the basement game room and hot tub. Great communication with hosts- they called ahead of our stay to welcome us and answer questions. We had a low smoke detector battery that was chirping and they were super responsive and brought a new one quickly. 15 minute drive to historic downtown area. We’d defintely book again!

Nice place, great host, good location!

We enjoyed the spacious house and made use of the porches and patios on nice evenings. It was nice to have a family room without a TV to actually sit and visit while on vacation. The downstairs area was very nice and we especially liked the hot tub and pool table! The one thing we wished was better about this property was explaining how far it was from the owners club. We were surprised to find out it was not right there close to the house. It was a very nice place to stay, enjoy a couple meals each day as a family, and most importantly relax!

Wonderful Getaway

We enjoyed our stay in this Galena home. The teenagers and adults really enjoyed the ping pong table and arcade game. Plenty of room for all of us. Check in process was easy and upfront communication was great. Two suggestions, based on our family preferences only, would be to add a TV to the main floor living room. We enjoy cooking together while watching sporting events. Secondly, a couple of the beds were firmer than we prefer. Neither items were issues… only suggestions. Thanks!

Great Jacuzzi, fire pit, stocked kitchen more

Kids loved the Jacuzzi and game room TVs in every room provided a relaxed bedroom experience jacuzzi is conveniently located right off the basement game room porch fire pit is large with many seats huge stack of firewood is provided w/fire starters and lighters to make lighting the fireplace or firepit easy Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would ever need and much more pots and pans for miles plus instapot, crockpot, indiv. pod coffee maker, 12 cup coffee maker, food processor, blender, smoothie maker and much more grill was conveniently located on upper deck right off kitchen we were able to bring our dog for a minimal fee, which made it easier for us just bring yourself, your clothes and food and you're good to go check in and check out was easy with an easy to follow list of very minimal tasks to complete. Owner's club was nice and huge indoor pool is great fun next time, we'll come during a warmer season to try the outdoor pool with 2 slides!Only cons:We wish we had more than 6 lanyards for the owner's club (indoor pool, game room & exercise equip. room). We think if a rental is advertised to sleep 10, then 10 lanyards should have been provided. 6 of us could go for free but the other 4 had to pay a 5 fee. We thought the rental was priced high enough without adding this on top. Also, the house cleaner could pay a little more attention next time... we found a pair of underwear and trash left behind from the previous tenant.

We will be back!

10/5/23-10/8/23 Long-time high school friends and their spouses met for a long weekend get-together. The home is recently updated and has enough room for the nine of us to get lost in. From the fire pit, to the hot tub (we ordered a water truck to refill it), to the pool table and PacMan, games for the kids and partially inebriated but safe adults, the huge breakfast table, TV's everywhere (HULU subscription might be a nice touch), plenty of amenities (towels, linens, toiletries, garbage bags, appliances (maybe an upgrade to some simple newer pots and pans), a barbeque grille with an extra propane tank and a large porch and wooden decks to socialize throughout. We did survive the continuous thunderstorm of acorn nut droppings from all the area oak trees. Just a short drive into Galena for all that the town has to offer. Plenty of nature available to see, including navigating around wayward turkeys and cows while driving through the rolling hills (It took us Chicagoans a few moments to confirm a bat sighting but we’re happy that a result of having one around meant there were no flying bugs to deal with). The scenic views remind you that Illinois is definitely not all that flat and has plenty to look at. This location would be suitable for visiting year-round. We would definitely consider returning for a reunion.
