It was a wonderful stay. A short walk to all the restaurants! Great views of galena. Just need a little upgrade in the beds, but other than that it was clean and cozy! We definitely will stay there again!!!!!

Nautical house-amazing location

We enjoyed our stay at the property.. it had everything we needed for a long weekend in Galena and a perfect location to park and walk to most of the city points of interest. The outdoor areas of the house were great for unwinding at the end of the day or between activities. We would definitely stay here again

Our family with two young kids had a great stay. The house is located right in the town so only a couple blocks to restaurants and coffee and shops. The house was very clean and cute, authentic to the town. Parking was so convenient. Highly recommend!

Comfortable and quaint.

We’ve stayed in several different places on our visits to Galena, but this time we decided to stay closer to downtown. This was the perfect place for us. Easy to get anywhere by walking, and nice to home to and rest up for more exploring. We’d definitely recommend this place and will stay here again.

This home is old, quirky and charming in a perfect location. Steps (without climbing steps) from downtown shops and restaurants. Wonderful front porch and back deck/yard. Be aware your parking spot is on Bench Street with several steps down to house. We have stayed here several times and intend to come back.

Fantastic location

This house is right off the main strip in Galena so a great location to get right to the heart of everything. Great that there is reserved parking off the backyard to ensure you have a place to park after heading out for the day. Check in and out was super easy. It's an older house with steep stairs so that might be a consideration for some, but we had a great time. Wish we could have enjoyed the back patio more but our visit was short and jam-packed with events.

Wonderful location and spotless home

Nautical House was exactly as the pictures depict. We felt very safe and were happy that it was very quiet. There are a lot of stairs (54) that lead to the parking pad. Also, the box on the door that allows entry is not intuitive if one hasn't used this type of lock. After about 5 minutes of fooling around with it we had success. We would stay there again.

3 day stay

We were in town for a wedding, this location is great to be able to walk all over down on main street. How was clean, nautical charm. They do disclose no hand soap, although I think they should be able to provide we bought 3 for kitchen and two bathrooms. Great backyard space, the bed was not comfortable in the large room, my husband never complains and even his back was hurting. There are stairs to get in to house, and to go upstairs where both bathrooms located. Overall we enjoyed our time and would definitely book again!

Perfect Spot to Walk the Town

The property has a lot of charm and was just the right size. It was very clean, and with being on Main Street it was only a short walk to the start of the shops (and cool how it’s right next to the gates). The only improvement is with directions for parking. My group got confused as to which Presbyterian church we needed to look out for in order to find the right lot (Maps only showed 1 church that was labeled as such but it wasn’t the right one, and there’s several churches on the same street for many blocks). Even a local who tried helping was confused. Overall though, this was perfect for our stay and will definitely consider booking again!

Location

The location of this rental home is perfect for visiting downtown Galena. It is a small, but comfortable home. The two beds are only full/double size, so my husband & I each took a bedroom since we are used to much more sleeping space. Both beds are comfortable though. The cleanliness of the home needs a lot of improving in our opinion. This home has A LOT of nautical memorabilia and most of it was pretty cool. But if you're going to be a collector of such stuff...keep it clean! A lot of dust, old cobwebs, dirty ceiling fans, etc. When my husband notices a place is dirty...it is. And if there is parking available in front of the house, GET IT! The stairs coming down from the parking pad behind the house are a force to be reckoned with...especially in a torrential downpour that we had when we arrived! And this house is for anyone with mobility issues. But with the great location, we were able to walk every where we wanted to go & we had a very enjoyable weekend.

Location is excellent! No real check in, they provide entry code. Home is very comfortabe & perfect for 2 couples. Quirks with electricity & slow tub drain. We pulled a wade of hair out of drain! Could use better lighting, especially over kitchen sink. The light over diningroom table has a broken bulb base in it. Lamp in diningroom is plugged to extension cord that goes into wall. Seems against code. The drain plug for kitchen sink is missing making it difficult to do dishes. We improvised with stuffing rag in drain! Some light bulbs are burned out. We just took from lamps we weren't using. The whole house could use a good dusting. The side window in front bedroom doesn't lock closed & top sash lowers itself. We realize its an old house so we can overlook small things but just want to let owner know. This is our second time staying & will come back!
