Overall, we enjoyed our stay at The Lodge (2 Adults and 2 kids, aged 6 & 8). The room was nice, and general hotel cleanliness was good. The pool and games room amenities were enjoyed by all too. The housekeeping, however, can only be described as a bit strange. I understand that some of it will just be down to Danish culture; but we still felt perplexed: After our first nights sleep, we left the room and returned later in the day to find the housekeeping had been in: They left us a note on the table saying that they are "Happy to make beds, just not teddy bears... If you'd like the bed made, it needs to be clear of personal items" We found this rather odd... in any other hotel we've stayed in, the housekeeping normally just makes the bed and tuck the teddy into the covers. The kids teddy bears in question were small, not excessive. Secondly, as others have said, there is a sign asking you to recycle plastics by leaving it on the desk.. but in our 5 night stay, the bottles weren't cleared once.. so we had a pile of bottles on the desk. Thirdly, the tea and coffee cups were never replaced.. we had dirty cups lying about for days. Since housekeeping didn't replace them, we had to go in search of fresh cups from reception every day. They also didn't replenish tea/coffee/milk sachets at any point - so a guest staying 1 night gets the same amount of tea/coffee as someone staying for 5. However, it's not a bad hotel by any means. Staff were friendly enough, breakfast was decent.

The food let's the hotel down. The dinner was expensive but the food was awful. The crispy chicken was inedible and the chicken nuggets could break a window they were so over cooked. All the lego displays are fantastic including King Rat in the bathroom.
