Great beach house!
We've been renting beach houses for 30 years and this was, without a doubt, the cleanest! It truly was spotless. We loved the well stocked garage area with the kayaks, boogie boards, coolers and tons of beach toys for our grandddaughter. It's rare to have a rental with nice non-stick pans and very clean dishes. It was nice to have both diahwasher and laundry detergent provided. Another benefit of this house is no motor vehicles can use the section of beach in front of the house.

Great Stay
We had a great week at Salt and Light Beach House with our family. We have vacationed in Galveston for many years and the house was well stocked with all the amenities, cooled well, and slept all of us comfortably. 5 Stars!

The house and view were beautiful. We all enjoyed our stay. We liked the rocking chairs on the main balcony. My only suggestion would be to raise the height of the railing as the bannister was at eye level blocking the view. ( I realize the height of the railing is by code ). Bar stools would also work.

The house was great. We were told no vehicles were allowed on the beach in front of the house but the beach patrol did nothing about cars driving on the beach. NOT the fault of the property owner. Definitely would stay here again. 3 families: 6 adults & 3 kids. Plenty of space for everyone. Adults all had king beds

Literally can NOT go wrong with this place
The house, location and hospitality were everything I hoped it would be and more. The kitchen was very well equipped, the beds were OUTSTANDING but the big surprise was all of the beach gear at our disposal. Everything from kayaking to sand castle building… this place had it all.. I highly recommend this house

Perfect Location - parking meh
The house is amazing! Layout is perfect for multiple families, plenty of room, very clean. The outdoor shower with hot/cold water is a huge bonus. Beds were all comfortable. Kitchen and bathrooms well stocked. There is absolutely nothing bad to say about the house or location. Just one phrase of caution: parking is tight. Two cars are fine, three is ok, but more than that is tight.

This was a great beach house in a perfect location for our family vacation. The beach was just a few steps away and the house had plenty of space and all the amenities for both adults and children. The host, Jason, was very friendly and responsive. We will definitely be back to Salt + Light!

Weekend trip to the beach
Our overall experience was excellent. We phoned the homeowner when we discovered the walkway was partially overgrown. He did his best to get this remedied, but it was a neighboring rental group that took care of the issue. Also, the beds were harder those those to which we are accustomed, so our sleeping experience wasn’t the best. But the new owner was a jewel with whom to work, and responded almost immediately to questions. We couldn’t have asked for kinder landlords for our weekend trip to the beach! We previously rented this house and have always enjoyed the amenities and responses from the homeowners! It is exceedingly well-stocked!

Really enjoyed this home! They have everything you could desire in a vacation home. Kitchen is very well stocked. Great dining seating. Beautiful view. The only drawback is the parking. Parking is super limited and hard to get by the house at the front of the driveway. Overall a great experience!

Wonderful!
We've stayed at many homes in Galveston. This is a GEM. The owners are nice, the home is immaculate, the beds are comfortable, it is right on the beach, the walk over is in great condition without weeds all over it, the kitchen is big and well stocked, the outdoor shower has warm water, the view from the patios on both levels is PERFECT and the TV and internet work - EASILY - and without effort or disruption. We loved it!

Spectacular Home for Calm Gatherings
We loved our stay in this home which was well maintained and well-stocked. Greatly appreciated the large amount of toys in the shed, as well as the surprise basketball and soccer goals. The views were magnificent, and the neighbors were quiet making for a great stay. Inside the home, everything was clean and well labeled. All of the beds were incredibly comfortable, and there was plenty of storage for anything we had brought along with us. It is hard to beat the immediate walk-over and multiple decks, and the large table was plenty big enough for our gathering. We'll definitely be recommending this place to other family members for future visits.

This is our second time renting this house. We love the location! The beach ( during off season) is amazing because no cars are allowed to drive on it. It is a very quiet area too. The house is very clean with lots of beds to accommodate everyone. Highly recommend this property for families!

Great Property
We really enjoyed our stay and everything we needed was already there! It sure made packing so much easier! And all drawers/cupboards were labeled. I also liked that they left us space to put our groceries so that we didn't have to have all of our stuff on the counters. We LOVED the big dining room table so that we could all eat together. We love to cook so the big kitchen was great too as we weren't all on top of each other while preparing meals. We will definitely book again next year for our family beach trip! Thanks for having your renter's in mind with your set up.

The home was very nice and clean, however the best part about the stay was the beach. No one could drive on the section of beach in front of the house so we hardly had anyone near us on the beach. It was great with kids to not worry about traffic!

A great time at the Yellow House!
House was fantastic for 10 adults and 1 infant. 5 bedrooms (one of the bedrooms doubles as the upstairs living area, but still worked great). Awesome kitchen, nice deck area with super-quick access to the beach. As for the beach itself, it's a private beach shared by the homeowners/renters, which meant very few families and lots of room for frisbee, baseball and soccer. The only challenges we had was the TVs were in and out...some connection issue...but given we were there to spend time with family, it was not a big deal at all. Overall, we thought it was a terrific place to spend our family vacation, and won't hesitate to stay there again in the future.

Two weeks at the beach
We stayed here for two weeks with 4 adults and 3 kids and had plenty of room. The beds are all very comfortable and the house had everything we needed. It was the best stocked rental home I had ever stayed it, the kitchen had everything from a blender to a slow cooker and each room had lots of pillows and blankets. The view of the beach from the balconies was perfect and the basketball hoop downstairs ended up being a huge hit with the kids when they needed a beach break or when it rained. The only thing that we were disappointed in was trash on the beach. While we saw garbage crews drive by every day on the beach and try to clean it, it was just coming up ever day from the ocean. Not sure if this is a Galveston wide problem or something had happened in gulf and it was washing up while we were there. The house was great though and we still had a blast.

This property is extremely nice and very clean. The beach did not allow cars which was perfect. A block down beach was bumper to bumper on the beach. The kitchen is very, very well stocked with any cooking device you would need. All the bedroom were great except for one upstairs that was almost useless for us. Using previous comments I actually brought drapes and over door hangers for the uncovered French doors. But the trundle beds would be hard to configure. Perhaps the owner needs to decide if it should be a bedroom or tv/game room and not try to make it both. And put blinds or shades on the doors. And frankly Galveston beach is just plain dirty. There is trash everywhere when you walk the beach. I know it sounds like we were miserable but we had a great time being together. And I would recommend this property but be clear that one of the bedrooms did not work at all well for us.

Had a great time. Great house and had everything we could need. Great view of the beach from all levels and a few steps and you are on the beach. Plenty of rooms and beds for everyone. Great kitchen for cooking big family dinners with a big table to eat on. Very quiet and safe. The ocean makes it so you would never know there’s a highway right behind the house. Everybody did their thing and nobody got bored even after 9 days. Everything you need can be found in a short drive. No shortage of things to do and delicious places to eat. It was like having our own private beach. House is well stocked with everything you need even kayaks and beach toys. Thanks

AN EXEMPLARY VRBO HOME
The house was extremely nice. The caretaker contact, Jim and the owner, Jay, are extremely friendly and helpful. There was a minor error in the description pertaining to "cars on the beach" during the month of March that was clarified to my satisfaction and I understand it was corrected in the listing. The amenities couldn't have been better. Full use of anything in the house. The kayaks proved to be a lot of fun. The beds and bedding were fantastic. It is listed as a "5 bedroom", but the 5th bedroom is an upstairs TV room with 3 twins and a trundle. The drawback being the glass doors to that room providing no privacy, even if it is used as the kids room. But that is a very small point. The other very small point is the size of the downstairs living space. It is not possible to watch a show on the main TV with couch seating for 7 at best. It is not an unfair trade to get 2 master suites and the additional bedrooms, but it is harder to gather comfortably for a movie. By the way, all TVs are large and Smart. The hot shower out doors was an unexpected surprise and greatly appreciated this time of year. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and will definitely try to book this property in the future.

Our crew loved this place. Home is well stocked for staying in to play, cook, or cozy up for movie. The extras for the beach are abundant! Kayaks, sand toys, chairs, (handful) life jackets, and more! I especially appreciated the finishes within the home-it’s higher quality things like granite counters, luxurious linens/pillows, a plethora of kitchen appliances, and solid doors (means super sound proof for your sleeping babes!). Toys, puzzles, dvds, pack and play, high chair, and mini baby swing made it a lot lighter in things we needed to bring. We came in late Feb from frigid temps and our kids were playing in the water and collecting shells each day. Loved it. We can certainly recommend this place!

What a great beach getaway! Renting the property was easy. The property manager and owner were very helpful and responsive to our questions. Check-in was simple. The property is in a great location. The owner had many recreational supplies available for kids and grown-ups alike. Unfortunately we were there in winter, so we didn’t get to use the kayaks and many other supplies. Under the house is a covered breezeway and outdoor shower that would be great to use in summer. The house was very clean and comfortable. The porches offer a great unobstructed view of the beach. The owners have provided all appliances and basic kitchen supplies. It felt more like staying at a friend’s house than a rental. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely perfect and then some. 15/10!
Best vacation rental experience I've had, easily. We had three generations of family including kids and everyone loved it. Jim and Jay were more than helpful every step of the way. The property was super well-kept and clean, with a very nice comfy interior and incredible beach+ocean views from both decks. Tons of beach toys for the kids down in the garage. The kitchen had lots of utensils, cooking tools, glasses/mugs, etc., and the dishwasher worked very well. Amazing number of bath towels and blankets! We had 9 adults + 4 kids and plenty of beds/blankets/towels/etc to spare. Needless to say, it was beyond wonderful to have our own walkway directly to the beach. Special mention for the easy check-out process. AMAZING. For better or worse it's pretty common for vaca rentals to require serious cleaning, or at least stripping the beds. In this case, the process was refreshingly simple: clean up after yourself (totally reasonable), tidy up, do the dishes, get your stuff and go. In short, the house is every bit as good as it looks in the photos and then some. Highly recommended!

Amazing Location- Great for Families
The home was very clean, well stocked, and had plenty of space for our family of 8. Our 6 boys throughly enjoyed the beach and all the beach toys we were able to use. Our trip was unfortunately cut short due to a hurricane evacuation. The property manager and homeowner maintained great communication throughout our entire stay, but especially during the evacuation and refund process. We can't wait to stay here again!

Home away from home!
This was our second stay at this wonderful beach house. Beautiful views of the ocean from the decks. The beach is literally right out the door. Kayaks were added after our last stay and they were so much fun! Plenty of seating and comfortable beds for our large family. Kitchen has plenty of utensils, pots and pans and even a dishwasher for easy cleanup. Couldn’t ask for better communication with Jim, the property manager. He was fantastic! We will definitely come back here on our next Galveston trip!!

What a wonderful trip we had at your home directly on the private beach of Mirimar! We were a bit nervous when they closed the beaches due to COVID-19 (4th of July weekend) but realized very quickly that the stretch of beach this property sits on is very private, no vehicles allowed. Glorious stay for our group with plenty of space for sleeping. Very comfortable furnishings inside the home, better than what is pictured. Great mattresses, pillows, sofas. We spent much of our time on the two decks when we were not at the beach. Kids enjoyed the beach toys, kites and Boogie boards. Thank you for sharing your home and we will be back!!

This is a great place for multi-families. This was our 7th year renting different properties and this was the best yet. We had plenty of space and the beach was quiet so we felt as if we had it all to ourselves. It was clean and had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the beach house. It is a lovely home, clean and comfortable. The beach was beautiful and clean as well. The house met all our needs and was big enough for our group of eleven. We will consider staying here again in the future. One thing I would recommend is a bench inside by the front door and hooks for hanging hats and dry cover ups. Currently, there isn't a place to set a purse or beach hat upon entering the front door. I also suggest a mat in front of the wet bar so that the floor does not get wet. Other than that, all was great!

Location location location!
This home was spotless and beautiful and right on the beach. We live in East Texas and rent a home every year in Galveston to vacation with our family. Every year we have gotten OK homes but ultimately never liked them enough to book it the following year- but this home is the home we all finally agree that we want to return to every year. Great beds. Great kitchen. Outside shower. Jamaica beach is far superior to beaches closer to town. Private beach. It was so nice to have our own secluded beach area while all the other beaches were beyond crowded. We saw dolphins swimming and playing in the oceans in the morning. The only complaint I have is that one of the bedrooms that has 6 beds (3 twins with trundles) has glass doors and they did not have curtains on the door- that meant the people sleeping in there had no privacy. That is the only change I would make. We tried putting sheets at the top of the door, but every time we opened or closed the doors they fell. Other than that, everything was perfect! We’ll be back next year.
