"Everything was good, room was clean and quiet. If there is anything I would change is the water. Water was a little too soft. Hard to tell when the soap was rinsed off of you."
"We were in a king room. It had a sofa and a desk in addition to the king bed. The room was clean and cold when we got in around 7:30 PM. The property is clearly old but it is maintained and they have great rates. The shower was tricky to get the temperature right (too hot!) but once I got it figured out, it was perfect. The breakfast simply continental, although they do have a waffle maker. Not eggs and bacon and such. It was enough.
We have stayed here many times and will definitely stay here again."
Lone Star River Ranch- Large Luxury Venue for Conferences & Retreats - sleeps 44
10/10 Excellent
"We had a great time with our group of 25 women. Everyone loved it and commented on how beautiful it was and how much space there was. Everyone was able to be in the bed type they wanted whether a private room or shared room and people loved being there. The facilities were beautiful. The land was amazing and we only wish we had better weather and would have helped to have had more info on how to access the trails and river since it was so massive. Still it was so peaceful and beautiful. There is so much space for a large group, the kitchens are stocked with anything you can need and more. Plenty of extra blankets and throws and pool towels and really appreciated the extra details they included. We loved the pool and outdoor fire pits, had some trouble with the hot tub not heating and there wasn’t fire starter but we given a discount so appreciated that. We had several minor issues, mainly due to a county wide power outage which was out of their control. Thankfully they had generators. One wasn’t working which caused some issues with electricity and outlets and such but they were very responsive to any of our requests and showed up to help often and it was all back on after a few hours. Communication from the beginning was great, they were very helpful and accommodating. Our group is already talking about when we can go back. Highly recommend especially for big groups looking to escape in a beautiful place. "
"The pictures of the property make it look better than it was. The house is old, needs multiple repairs, rotting wood in bathroom and a smell of sewer gas, hair in drain prevented water from draining, baseboards dirty. Thrift shop furniture (unmatched) shabby sheik mix of furniture. Other people’s food in kitchen. Multiple different types of shampoos soaps and other used stuff in storage cabinets. No safety bars in shower. Although it was great to have the space and convenience, it was not up to par with other vrbo homes I have stayed at. I’m not complaining because I was only there for sleep and convenience, I’m writing this as a suggestion to help the owner out. I have worked in the hotel hospitality industry and have extensive experience. The bed was comfortable in the back bedroom but one bed was slanted/sloping to the center. Could not get the tvs to work. If there was cable I couldn’t figure out how to use it (need instructions for use of tv) at each tv. Overall, it fit our need for privacy, quiet and sleep after working 8-10 hours. This critique is given not for publishing but to assist in quality which I’m sure the owner would appreciate. So please don’t publish it. "
