Wow what a view from the Barn on the Banks of Yellowstone National Park!!❤️
Wow..what a view..love the loft! You may not have been 'Born in a Barn', but here's your chance to stay in one and VACATION 'Till the Cows Come Home'! We invite you to stay in our barn loft and call it your home, while you relax and enjoy our nation's largest and oldest National Park.
Barn on the Banks is located just above the Yellowstone river in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of Gardiner, Montana. We are less than 1 mile to the park's North Gate Entrance, famous for the Teddy Roosevelt Arch, and within walking distance to down town shops, restaurants, a grocery store, post office and excellent trout fishing.
Yellowstone river runs through this small town that is nestled at the foothills of Electric Peak, a majestic mountain that carries snow throughout most of the year. We are located at the end of a lane with no through traffic. Our loft overlooks the confluence of the Gardiner and Yellowstone rivers, and has unobstructed spectacular views of the mountains. We border the river and we are directly across from Yellowstone Park.
A short walk down the bank takes you to the river's edge where you can sit and enjoy nature, including frequent fliers of ducks, geese, bald eagles, and osprey, or possibly see a family of otters playing in the water.
From our deck you can view hummingbirds, mountain songbirds, and wildlife including deer, elk, Big Horn sheep, Pronghorn (antelope), or possibly see a bear, wolf, coyote, or bison.
One summer while sitting on the deck of the barn, my husband witnessed a doe deer giving birth to twin fawns. We frequently saw mama deer and her little ones close to our house and barn throughout the summer. Now we've seen yet another 'Near Barn Birth'! Over Memorial Weekend, we and our guests witnessed an Elk giving birth just a few feet below the deck of the Barn! This is truly an area you'll be able to experience nature.
The barn has never housed animals, the bottom of the barn is used for private storage. The barn loft was renovated in 2008-2009, and features a full kitchen with all new appliances, comfortable seating in the living area, and a large deck that looks into Yellowstone Park. You can sit by the fire on a chilly night, or cool down with air conditioning on a hot summer day.
There are amazing views from all areas of the loft made easy by several large windows. The master bedroom has a king bed, private bath, air conditioning, a fireplace and your own private balcony to sit, relax and enjoy the sunset.
The cozy 'Queen Room' catches the morning sun, and has the ambiance of a fireplace as well. The 3rd and "middle bedroom'" has one full sized double bed and one twin bed. The sofa in the living room converts to a full size bed.
The deck which overlooks Yellowstone Park and the river, features outdoor tables and chairs as well as additional seating and a gas grill under the deck. So come and stay with us, enjoy our 'Barn on the Banks', and make your vacation one you will remember. **NOTE: There is an additional 3% Gardiner Resort Tax that you will be billed separately for if your stay is June through September.

Our second time here! For YNP, we won’t stay anywhere else! It’s SO clean. SO comfy. SO well maintained and has all the bells and whistles. The owner (private, not some yucky management company) came over in-person to let us know about black bear activity in the area. Perfect!!!!
This property was perfect for our Yellowstone vacation and had everything we needed for a great few days in Montana. My husband and son enjoyed fishing the Yellowstone River below the house in between our travels around the area. The bank is steep and long, but it was worth it to catch a few fish.
Lovely stay for our family. The hosts treat you like family, we enjoyed them! Definitely telling friends to stay here when visiting Yellowstone! Beautiful home and convenient location.
We loved the Barn on the Banks! Amazing location with beautiful views and lots of wildlife! Lovely owners- very kind and welcoming. Had everything we needed!
Ken and Linda were fantastic hosts. The barn was very clean and in such a peaceful setting. Lots of elk come to graze in the area in the evening. There is nothing missing here - the place is well stocked with anything and everything you could ever need. Highly recommend!
The Barn on the Banks is better then what you see in the pics. Great location with amazing views of the park, elk right at your doorstep, and the Linda and Ken are amazing hosts. Literally 5 minutes to the North Entrance which allowed us to come and go to experience even more of the park.
We loved everything about the place and will definitely be back.
We fell in love with the Barn as soon as we got there. The hosts are so thoughtful and sweet. We absolutely adored seeing elk, pronghorn, squirrels and chipmunks every day from the balcony!
The property was very well-kept, wonderful and homey accommodations, location great for Yellowstone entrance! We saw elk in the backyard. The owners were SO nice and helpful and right next door! Lots of items for picnicking available in the unit! Definitely would rent again if we can!!
We had a fabulous stay at Barn on the Banks. The home was clean, spacious, and well equipped for our family of 6. Convenient to Gardiner and Yellowstone. Gardiner has a nice little grocery store where we were able to pick up anything we needed. Our son enjoyed fishing on the Yellowstone River below the house and caught quite a few fish. Linda and Ken are fabulous hosts. Would highly recommend this house to anyone!
Amazing property with every thing a family needs! The view is stunning overlooking the North entrance to Yellowstone park and access to Yellowstone River! We were able to hike down and fish, such a neat experience for my kids! We absolutely loved our stay here and would come back again just to enjoy more of the town of Gardiner. Also the best hosts you could ask for! It was the perfect place to stay for a Yellowstone park vacation- we were able to journey around nearly the entire grand loop visiting 4/5 of the entrances. Just cannot express through a written review how wonderful this place actually is! .
Location was great, very close to downtown and north entrance to Yellowstone. The house was supplied wtih all the essentials and then some. There were plenty of towels and kitchen stuff. The hosts were available for any questions. e
Great location. Perfect decor for a “barn”. Give it a 10/10. I got double steps for the stairs. Heaters would be better with thermostats. Toys were a hit for my 4 year old granddaughter. Place felt like home!! Umbrellas, flashlights, ice chests, binoculars, spices, and ice in the ice maker bin topped it off. My daughter said she wants to come again.
The Barn on The Banks was just as described. Our family of 6 found everything we needed and more! Hosts provide bear spray, coolers, fishing poles, swim towels- the list goes on! This was probably the most well-stocked vacation rental I have ever stayed in. You do not need to over-pack when staying here. The views are beautiful and our kids loved visiting the river. We did see bear scat on the trail our first day so take your spray with you just in case. Lovely hosts- Would stay again in a heartbeat.
The ‘barn’ is a wonderful place to stay. It had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. There is air conditioning but not really needed at night as it was quite cool with windows open. Great deck for watching the river and reading. Cozy area also below the deck and nice (bit steep) walk to the river. Few minutes drive to enter Yellowstone. Variety of rafting and horseback riding places right in town. The house has so many cute and unique decorations we all enjoyed spotting something new right to our last day. Ken and Linda were very nice and easy to ask questions of for local area. Stayed 12 days in August 2024.
The Barn on the Banks is a great place to stay. The location is quiet and the views are wonderful. I was able to get night photographs of the Milky Way from the front porch!Hosts were very friendly and invited to see some black bears hanging in their tree!
We had a delightful stay at the Barn on the Banks! The home is very comfortable and nicely sized, the beds were great, the kitchen was fully equipped, and the setting is fantastic, having a great view of the North Entrance to Yellowstone.
It is a 10 out of 10. Views are spectacular. Location is perfect. It is impeccably decorated and there were elk everywhere. We would buy it if they would sell,
Barn on the Banks was a great base for us to explore Yellowstone from. The kitchen was well supplied which let us cook in and prepare lunches for the road. We appreciated the available bear spray, binoculars and cooler. Fishing on the river was great but be prepared for a healthy hike down and back up.
This cutely decorated barn-house is packed with anything and everything you might need for your stay! The host was very quick in replying to questions or for suggestions. We especially loved discovering the "secret farm" under the porch. My whole family loved staying at such a unique and homely place while visiting Yellowstone.
Excellent stay and highly recommend. Super easy access to Yellowstone and so much easier to access the park than in other locations. We never had lines to enter like you do in West Yellowstone. The property itself is advertised but the photos don’t do it justice. The beds are comfortable and everything is well maintained. You can tell a lot of care went into the place. We loved sitting outside and watching the elk down by the river.
