The château is beautiful. The room was well appointed and the dinner and the chef are amazing. There are really beautiful scenes of the river and the surrounding area is so gorgeous.
Exquisite taste in decor. Rooms were large and bathrooms were very functional. The breakfast meals were incredibly well thought out. Fruit, meats, cheese and of course, bread were fresh and extremely tasty. Dinner was in a classy restaurant. The menu was not common; however, the combinations were very delicious. The staff was kind. The wine from the owner’s vineyard was amazing. I recommend this property.
A spectacular chateau with the most amazing view over the river. Staff were wonderful and the food delicious. Would highly recommend a visit. The weather was extremely hot and without air conditioning the night was uncomfortable despite a fan in the room. Maybe some portable coolers would help. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay in every way. Thank you.
Stayed here on a stop over for a trip further south, from the time to check in to check out we received great customer service and the views over the Loire valley were amazing. We will definitely stay again given the chance.
A warm welcome and an excellent room. Staff very helpful. A liitle disappointed that the restaurant was closed on the night of our stay (Monday) but the receptionist suggested local places to eat. She enquired on availability but all were booked. Drove to Saumur (15 minutes away) and found several restaurants. Breakfast was great and the views across the Loire river were uplifting. Would reccommend.
The property was lovely. Great location overlooking the Loire River. Audrey was wonderful when we checked in. She helped us get a dinner reservation for our first night and we were able to walk. Wish the restaurant had been open, but that can’t be helped. Breakfast was delicious on property. We felt like the wines in the bar were a little overpriced based on what we bought from the local vineyards. Lovely area to visit. Everyone we met were very friendly.
We stayed for just one night and were blown away by how stunning the chateau and its views. The staff were all very welcoming, friendly and attentive without being fussy.
We stayed in the Napoleon suite which had incredible views of the Loire from the balcony. The room itself was huge with beautiful period furniture and features. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom was very clean with double sinks and shower and all necessities supplied were good quality.
We enjoyed great food and wine in the restaurant with a 3 course meal plus some additional delicacies.
We definitely felt like we’d had a chateau experience and would recommend as a beautiful place to stay
It changed ownership 6 years ago and this was my first visit since the change. It has lost some of the family charm, the menu is smaller, the house wine is now from Bordeaux from the owners vineyard and the internet in the bedrooms was inadequate.
The stay was everything you expect from a four/five star establishment and the staff were of the correct calibre. The food remained exceptional.
I probably will not be returning but would highly recommend if you want a romantic or peaceful weekend. The views over the Loure remain stunning.
Hotel is a great value but it’s really tired. It’s really in need of a remodel or at a minimum a refresh. Food service was impeccable but the food caliber was mediocre at best. The piece de resistance was when we woke up the next morning, ready for a big day only to discover there was no hot water. They didn’t just run out, there was literally no hot water fir days and there only response was “sorry, someone should have told you when you checked in”. No offer to discount, no accommodation, just sorry, no hot water
We should all spend a night in a castle!
We really loved staying in this castle! Beautiful property, 10th century castle, nice big room, friendly staff, great service and elegant breakfast!
The Chateau Le Prieure was an absolute dream! Very beautiful and an affordable price as well. The staff were friendly and the chateau is in a good location near town and a short drive to several wineries in the area. We would love to go back one day!
We booked the room for three guests, but the amenities were only prepared for two—things like bathrobes were missing for the third person, which felt like a slight oversight in attention to detail.
That said, the overall experience was still wonderful. The dinner and breakfast were absolutely amazing, with a level of quality and service that made us feel truly looked after—almost like royalty. With just a bit more care in the room setup, this would have been a flawless stay.
