"One of the best hotels for meeting our expectations of responsiveness of staff, safety, cleanliness, light levels, big frig and parking. I recommend but not fancy just nice."

"I liked the view, the walking trail right outside the hotel, the pool, and the staff. There were some areas where cleanliness seemed like it was not a priority, but overall we really enjoyed our stay. "
"The Viking is one of the 1950s-era motels that are common on Interstate Avenue, from the days when it was one of the main arterials for visitors to Portland from the north. It has been renovated and well-maintained, though, and is a good choice for people looking for reasonably-priced accommodation in north Portland. It is very close to a light rail stop, and also to bike lanes and bicycle-friendly streets."
"I stayed here for a long stay and it was really pleasant. The unit is very well maintained, and has a lot of the needed equipment to cook your own meals, an easy to operate TV and an amazingly comfortable bed.You can hear some of the noises from the unit above, but they also respect the same quiet hours. They were super friendly and provide a lot of information in the unit's check-in information so communication is easy. You are really inside a neighborhood at the edge of Forest Park, so you have use a car to get to places away from the park. But it is a great way to spend your day doing other things and coming back to unwind. You can also just walk into the trails, and that is amazing.I loved this (mostly) quiet retreat."
"We had such a great time and kept marveling at how nice this property is. Clean, spacious, incredibly well-appointed kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms, and a nice little backyard space. The commercial part of St. Johns is just a 12-minute walk away, where there are coffee shops, a vegan restaurant, a Korean restaurant, a cozy spot for handmade pasta, some bars, and a small movie theater. Sparrow Bakery is also about a 15-minute walk away. We did have a car, so we used that to explore other parts of Portland, like Belmont, the Pearl District, and the Rose Garden. If you’re looking to stay in North Portland this home is 10/10 and I hope to visit again. "
