Lovely apartment for our Christmas holiday

Great easy stay

My partner and I stayed here recently with our fur babies to visit my bestie. It made our visit easy, secure and stress free. Good little apartment with a great yard with all the amenities needed and in working order. The host was great with communication and clear about what we needed. We'll definitely be staying here for our visits to Gero from now on

The stay went very well. Thankyou.It is well located near family/very convenient.The apartment is spacious and has a good kitchen. I got used to the noises upstairs.However the mattress may need replacing.

Washing machine was useful. Take away food at end of street was convenient. Noisy footsteps from upstairs was annoying. Vertical drapes at entrance a bit tatty. In general ok.

Spacious ground floor unit

We enjoyed our stay. The property was very clean, and had everything we needed. There were shutters on most of the windows, which I couldn't seem to open, so it was quite dark inside, and you do get quite a bit of noise from people walking around upstairs. Unfortunately the TV wasn't working - I tried to notify the owner, but I think I may have replied to the email rather than using the contact owner link, as I never heard from her. Overall, we had a very comfortable stay though.

Downstairs at Green. This is an older style down floor apartment. It is stocked with most items you could need to self-care, including dishwasher, coffee machine, air fryer and most other items. The place is spotless with all linen supplied and the area is generally quiet. While others have mentioned the noise from upstairs, both people who were also there at the time moved around quietly and at night were very quiet. Our bedding was super comfortable. I can recommend Downstairs for most people for its amenities and for the pricing, I must add the following concerns. As two octogenarians we found some difficulties with the lounge set up, these were quite low and very squishy which outweighed the benefit of 7 seating space. There were stools only inside to sit and eat at a counter. One space did have two very low armchairs and a strange box like table on wheels, all of these too low to eat a meal. Rather than this setup, to us it seemed strange that there wasn’t provision of a table and four chairs (we had visitors for dinner), within the second space I mentioned. Outside was a small patio table and two chairs but they were not suitable to bring inside. Only because of my difficulties, I would have wished for some grab rails in the bathroom, or for more solid towel rail.

On entering the house the smell of dampness was really bad. I then went to open the windows of the bedroom to "air" the house out. The windows were disgusting and there was so much debris between the windows and the roller shutters. Since the bed was directly under the window I did not want any of the debris to be blown onto the bed. The lounge suite in the sitting area was like something that had been picked up on bulk rubbish. Torn fabric showing the foam cushion, seat cushion was broken and sank when sat on. This was a real shame, if these issues were resolved it would have made the stay much more pleasant. A plus was that the bed was very comfortable.
