Cricket House: Great Location; can rent with Culp House

A charming modern cottage in a great location of downtown historic Gettysburg. Ideal for a quiet getaway or honeymoon, or for two couples, or for a family of four. Has two queen bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, and can sleep four guests. The first-floor bedroom has a bathroom with a step-in shower; the second-floor bedroom has a bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub-shower.
There is a fully equipped kitchen on the 1st floor, and a breakfast table. The loft sitting room on the 2nd floor has a two-seater sofa and two single armchairs, and a TV set.
The cottage has mini-split air-conditioners on both floors, and baseboard electric heaters for the winter.
There is small private yard in the rear,, with a six-foot paling fence. Parking is in the front, with space for three cars.
The Cricket House can be rented with the Culp House, which sleeps another six guests, in three queen bedrooms.

Great Gettysburg Getaway

A must stay location to enjoy downtown

Conveniently located property that’s within easy walking distance to downtown restaurants and shops. Very quaint older cottage but clean. Small kitchen but we only cooked breakfast there and enjoyed the local restaurants.

Great Location

We were very pleased with the location. On a quiet side alley with plenty of parking-easy in easy out. Lots of restraunts close by, and just a couple blocks from the battlefield. Could easily accomodate 4 adults. Nice, private, outside sitting area.

Great Place to Stay

The Cricket House was a great place to stay for our first trip to Gettysburg. The battlefields were close by and many restaurants were within walking distance. We had one small mechanical issue during our stay and it was taken care of quickly. The beds very comfortable and everything was very clean. The host, Brian gave excellent recommendations for restaurants as well.

Another great stay at the Cricket House

This was my family's fourth stay at the Cricket House. We were two adults & a teen. The beds are comfortable & the house is clean. All you need to cook simple meals is in the kitchen. Easily walkable to downtown, to the Culp's Hill area of the battlefield, & to Gettysburg College. Other parts of town & battlefield are a short drive. Nice backyard area. Simple check-in. We look forward to returning.

Property is set in a great location close to town but not on a busy street, secluded backyard is very nice and makes you feel like your not in the city. Off Street parking that fit my van with no issues. Will recomend to family and friends

Charming property in a sterling location. Very nice and responsive hosts. Could not have a better stay. Plenty of private parking. Rear covered patio and garden is perfect for morning coffee and evening nightcaps. Short walking access to Central Gettysburg. We will most definitely return.

Annual Gettysburg Trip

Spent the weekend in Gettysburg exploring the city and rich history. The cricket house was perfect for the four of us (two adult couples). The whole place was super cute and well located for us. Short walk to the square, shops, and restaurants. The backyard was well landscaped and just adorable- probably my favorite feature of the home. The only *minor* note about the house was the water temperature; it was incredibly hot!

Family Vacation

This was our 3rd stay at the Cricket House. We enjoy its proximity to the town square, the battlefield, and to the larger stores outside the older part of Gettysburg. This time we brought our 14 yr-old grandson for his first visit to Gettysburg. The house provided a clean, comfortable space for all three of us. Nice beds. The shower downstairs is large & the upstairs jacuzzi a treat. We made use of the smart TV in the evenings. We hope to stay again in the future.

A delightful stay

The Cricket House is wonderfully quant, in an amazing historic district. It's clean, and meticulously maintained. It also provides the perfect location for everything you'll want to do in the area. Close to town - walkable, + a close distance to everything else by car. Convenient parking is available right in front of the front door, and there's a nice, private back yard area/patio to relax during times of nice weather. The Owners are very responsive and easy to correspond with via VRBO's "message to the host" system on the website. Only caution would be the stairs in the house could be difficult for young children or seniors. Highly recommend the Cricket House, it's one of my all-time favorite VRBO rentals, would definitely stay there again.

Perfectly Located, Quirky Vrbo

This is probably the quirkiest Vrbo I have yet to stay in. The Cricket House is a cute little renovated carriage house? garage? Not sure, but it's very conveniently located. I was a little taken aback by the 1st floor shower w/a door to the backyard & the 2nd floor shower w/the shower head in the middle of the ceiling. The oddly-shaped, super narrow 1st floor bathroom is by design. The room could be bigger, but they are using the space on the backside as a utility closet. Also, there are no doors on the bedrooms, just curtains. It was just my husband & me, so privacy wasn't an issue, but if you're staying w/others, maybe something to think about. All-in-all, we enjoyed staying at the Cricket House. The space heater on the 1st floor was a lifesaver during our stay as some of the nights we came back chilly from lots of walking.

Great little house! Stayed here with my husband and his sister and her husband, was the perfect size for the four of us - any more and it would have gotten cramped IMO. The kitchen is small, but well appointed for making some quick meals and the living room was a great place to hang out at the end of the day. The house is in a GREAT location!! We walked to town everyday and it is even close to several points of interest on the National Park.Check in process was simple and the home was immaculately clean! Would stay here again and highly recommend it.

Great Place, Great Location

Loved the Cricket House - I would recommend it as a place to call home while visiting Gettysburg! It is close to the center of town and just a couple of blocks from many attractions.
