"We had the best time at Lamangata - the hotel is stunning. You can tell Hernan & team take immense pride in the property, as it's impeccably cared for. The pool is also an absolute dream. One thing to note is that the property functions a bit like a chalet, with a setup designed to encourage interaction among guests. If you are open to this, it’s a massive highlight. The rooms are beautiful and offer sweeping views over the vast forest all the way down to the ocean. The surprising highlight of the trip was the unbelievable food. Chefs Eladio and Tony make everything from scratch, and it's all delicious. For activities, my friend took surf lessons and had a fantastic time, learning a huge amount in a very short period. Junior (the head coach) is an incredible teacher. Even though I didn’t surf this time, watching them made me want to come back for a dedicated week of learning! Location-wise, the hotel is situated up a long gravel road, so having a 4x4 is definitely helpful. However, the hotel team is also great at getting you wherever you need to go. You can't walk anywhere directly from the property, but it’s only a quick 10-15 minute drive to the nearest small town. The only minor inconveniences were that the Wi-Fi and the air conditioning in our room could occasionally be a little unreliable. However, the staff always sorted it out quickly, so it really didn't impact our stay. Overall, Lamangata is a truly special place. I can't wait to return!"

"A beautiful property with tons of dog-friendly walking trails. You feel very secluded in your cabina. It's a little bit of a walk from the parking lot to the cabins, so pack light. The bathroom didnt have some amenities like washcloths and conditioner, but otherwise the room was well equipped."

"Incredibly beautiful property with extensive grounds. Great place to enjoy a personal Costa Rican holiday. Hike about to experience their own lush waterfalls or just chill poolside then view a spectacular sunset. The varied rooms are spacious, well-maintained and appointed. From early morning with a tasty breakfast, the staff is available to assist you in making your plans for another enjoyable day onsite or with numerous options for touring nearby.
