"Overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was great & the room was lovely however staff were indifferent - often talking loudly amongst themselves unaware of guest presence - this was particularly noticeable in the breakfast room which wasn’t a relaxing experience."
"We had a very mixed experience here.
First thing to be aware of is that apparently air conditioning is at the discretion of management. We specifically booked somewhere with AC as we knew it could get hot in May and I’m sensitive to heat. When we arrived we thought it was broken and we were told it was actually off as it had not been turned on for the building yet this season, even though the weather was already hot. Not only was it hot in our room but it was incredibly stale air as there seemed to be very little circulation. It made me feel nauseous. We asked for a fan and they did not have one. We did everything we could to get it turned on and eventually we were told it would be turned on the next day, which it was. The staff at the front desk did try to help but ultimately it wasn’t their decision. If it hadn’t been turned on the next day we would have left.
The pool was only open until 6pm so we couldn’t cool off that way either. Very nice looking pool but a shame we didn’t get to use it.
The place was also a bit loud. Our room faced the train and the entrance. The first night we were woken up a little after midnight by fireworks being set off in front of the building.
Once other thing to note that is that Google Maps will tell you that it is a 6 minute walk from the train station. It is not. They try to have you cross train tracks and a fence. Unless you want to walk at least 20 minutes (sometimes on very busy roads with no sidewalk) then book a taxi."
"Beautiful spacious room, which we were kindly allowed to access early. Spotless, great cleaning and a friendly welcoming cleaner. Appreciated the many towels, lovely shower and large sink, the very comfortable beds and pillows, just right with the bedding for the warmer weather.
Sadly, we would have given five stars were it not for the noise levels from the street. Motorbikes were a particular hindrance but between the traffic and the trains we didn’t sleep at all well on the first night, it improved slightly only when we’d got a bit more used to it, but a huge improvement would be soundproofing the room.
Also disappointing was the fact that our superior room, on the top floor, was impacted by the location - outside the room - of tables, chairs, coffee machine, etc. - basically, a canteen. It felt a bit inappropriate to charge guests extra for rooms up there but then allow them to be subjected to lights being turned on and noisy conversations.
We did try to catch a bus outside, but either they didn’t arrive or they sped past without stopping.
Being situated next to a busy main road with high levels of fumes was very unhealthy and I had headaches during my stay directly related to the carbon monoxide from the constant fumes.
We appreciate everything you did to try and make our stay as pleasant and enjoyable as possible, and your comms were excellent.
I do suggest you change the windows to block out noise, though, as we otherwise could not contemplate returning."
"We chose this property for its Olympic size pool which didn’t disappoint. We wouldn’t normally choose a big resort hotel. The facilities are great for kids. There is a private beach area. Plenty of Trattorias around nearby and in town if you don’t feel like eating at the resort. Staff very helpful and friendly."
