The gardens were beautiful and the cottage was lovely and quaint. Generous platter and breakfast provisions.Close to wineries the Clare and Watervale townships. A great pet friendly stay!
The perfect break in a stunning garden. Anticipated our every need with wonderful food and welcoming wine. Easy layout and charming features suited us (and the dog). We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stop and smell the roses, literally!
Kay and Alana were wonderful hosts. The cottage was perfect and ideally located. A beautiful, private retreat with such an amazing garden. The thoughtful welcome touches were a real delight. We'd definitely recommend the cottage to friends and others visiting the region. Thank you!

Beautiful dog friendly accommodation with bonus visits from owners' dear little doggo.
We felt like we had the whole garden to ourselves. The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed including a cozy fire. Lots of treats here for those who stay.
Beautiful homely cottage wonderfully set in the most magnificent garden.
Alana and Kay were generous hosts perfecting the experience with little personal touches for us. Helpful and communicative, check in was easy and the cottage was comfortable and clean. We highly recommend staying!
This quaint little cottage presented true to its description and we were delighted . We had two comfortable nights and would happily return to
enjoy the gardens in full bloom.
Thank you to a lovely host.
Thank you for the opportunity to stay at this very unique property. The welcome package, property and garden setting was amazing. The quiet location and proximity to an amazing region was also great. The only down side was the wifi service being out of action. Thanks
We stayed at the cottage for two nights and enjoyed a full day on hire bikes exploring the area and wineries. It was a perfect base in a very quiet location but not far from the lovely local Sevenhill pub and a bit further to Clare. We wish we’d spent at least another night to see more of the area but also because the cottage was so well prepared and comfortable. Definitely recommend the Homely Cottage as it’s lovely, set in beautiful gardens and the owners Alana and Kay are so generous and thoughtful with all the extras they provide.
It's a wonderfully restored cottage and we didn't miss the electric blanket. Bed quickly warmed. Go there expecting a quaint, restored cottage and you will be very happy.
Amazing breakfast and gardens loved the character of the building
The host were absolutely amazing Cottage is just beautiful along with the gorgeous gardens I loved feeding the chooks our left over salads etc and it was so peaceful The cottage breakfast supply was absolutely amazing bacon eggs cheese crackers wine juice milk etc and a beautiful loaf of bread and our bike ride was so peaceful around the area too I would suggest a air fryer as there is no oven and i bought mini quiches party foods to heat up But had no way of doing that only by microwave which we chose not to doI would suggest a air fryer
From the time we walk in we felt at home. The thing that really stood out was all the small touches. Anything we may have forgot was already there. Also, very good value for money. We were so happy. When we went to leave, a small well trained doggie came for pats before sending us on our way.
The heritage stone cottage has lots of space with 2 living rooms and a bedroom with a comfortable bed and a very well equipped kitchen. Breakfast supplies were particularly generous and the excellent kitchen was well lighted. Lighting in the other rooms was a bit low and there was no television reception and a poor WIfi signal. The location is a little out of town and the road a bit difficult to spot in the dark. Overall, a quiet and comfortable place to stay.
This property was just so special. It really was a surprise to have such a spacious cottage & magnificent world renown garden.
We were extremely well looked after by Julie who was as always available.
Fabulous breakfast choices.
But sadly it was very cold. It was a cold week in South Australia , but people who knew Clare said it is a very cold region. We felt the heating was not adequate for a cosy stay. I would suggest a fire box 📦 instead of an open fire .This could be safely left burning.
I would also suggest panel heaters.
The reverse cycle heater had possibly seen better days.
A shame to be negative in such a special B& B
Delightful cottage in magnificent garden in full spring bloom. Truly magical. Delicious provisions for breakfast , snacks and local wine. Very pet friendly.
Just beautiful. The cottage is unique, clean & well appointed.Plenty of breakfast provisions plus complimentary wine, choc, cheese & fruit! The setting, amongst the heritage gardens is tranquil and special. A perfect getaway...
