The property was conveniently located within walking distance to all Girona sites. The downstairs/lobby area of the property smelt very strongly of sewage (to the point of having to cover your nose when you walk in). Our room was smelt strongly of air freshener upon arrival but as the air freshener wore off, the smell of sewage filled our room. The smell of sewage was strong enough in the bathroom that we had to constantly leave the door shut. The sheets were very clean but the blanket on the bed looked very dirty.

A comfy hotel
The hotel is very convenient for Girona centre and if you are travelling by train or bus the stations are only a short walk away. The Europa is a small traditional hotel , the room was small but quite adequate with a large wardrobe, desk and comfy chair. The bed was comfortable and instead of the usual duvet there was a blanket and cover. Lots of restaurants nearby. We will stay again.

Perfect situation.
The room was small and the bed was a bit hard but the situation was great with lots of shops and eating places around. It was also a very short walk to the bus station. The first room we were offered stunk of smoke but they gave us an alternative which was fine. They weren’t doing breakfast because of covid but we preferred to sort ourselves out anyway and lovely bread was available locally. It’s not a palace but served our needs well for an economical price.

2.8 sq meter room with a single bed. Only window opened onto an interior well which transmitted ALL noise including a smoker with chronic phlegm and Independencistas firing a shotgun off the roof ten times at 0630. €50 doesn’t buy much. Very friendly and helpful staff.

It was clean enough. I’m always disappointed when there isn’t a refrigerator in the room, so there was not one. The A.C. worked great, the staff was friendly and helpful.

First of all the location is extremely convenient to the train station. Stayed here while doing day trip to Figueres. Staff spoke excellent English and was courteous and helpful. Room a bit small and basic but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was extra but reasonable. Fresh bread, croissant, coffee, juice, milk, Spanish ham & sausage, tomatoes, cereal, yogurt and special orders on request. Surrounding town was interesting. Felt safe for walking the streets. Restaurants and shopping nearby. Had a great stay here overall.

A gem - close to the station
We chose the Europa mainly due to its proximity to the station, but were delighted by the friendliness of the staff. We visited out of the holiday season and found the hotel pleasantly quiet and relaxed. Our room was compact, but perfectly comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was simple but plentiful. Joel on the desk gave us good advice about local cafes, and in the morning we had time to walk through the town before strolling back to the station less than 5 minutes away. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Smallish room but well thought out, if anything they would be better off with a couple of glass holders in the bathroom over the sink as this has a sloping element and if the sink was wet glasses would slide off. but that is all.

The front desk staff is sooo accommodating and friendly here. Parking was very easy and accessible. Great location - you are in the Medieval part of town within a few minutes' walk. Cleanliness and amenities were also great. But - just to repeat - the front desk staff made our entire experience :)

Very good budget hotel. Location excellent for bus and train stations, 300 metres, with the historic old town just a 10 to 15 minute pleasant walk. Very clean with friendly efficient staff. Would recommend.

While obviously not a 5 star hotel the Europa Hotel punches above its weight for price, service, location, cleanliness and bed comfort. It’s an old style Spanish hotel in the beautiful city of Gerona. You’ll probably not spend much time in the hotel as everything is close at hand especially the two train stations (local & high speed), stunning old town and shops, bars & restaurants. Around 30 euros for a taxi to the airport from here. Staff are super helpful and made our first stay special.

It's close to Girona train station so you don't have drag your luggage walking a long way. Not far from the sightseeing places and the staffs are friendly. Can't ask for more for the price.

Nice enough, if you book a loft it might be up a ladder. Location 50 m from metro 15 mins walk Sagrada Familiar, 7 mins walk from Gothic Quarter

Report on the accommodation
I was in the hotel for 5 nights in a single bed room. I liked to be there first of all because of the friendly staff and the good location. The breakfast was sufficient. The room was small but the bed was comfortable. My room was on the fifth floor and in the afternoon the Sun beam hit the room very strongly. In the room there is not sufficient place for the dresses. The bathroom was well equipped. However, I have some remarks. The shower needs a longer curtain to avoid the water to flow out. In the bathroom there is no place to hang the dresses during the shower up. In the entrance of the room some hangers would be necessary for the overcoats.

Dont let airport hotels rip you off, stay here!
At one time I enjoyed the short walk from Girona aiport along to one of the 3 hotels situated there, but unfortunately they got very greedy asking something like 60 quid for a single room only, no brekkie.Far better to jump on the bus for 3 euros for a 20 minute ride to this gem five minutes from the station and save 20 quid. Very friendly,plenty hot water,clean & comfortable.

Comfort close to train station
Spent three nights at Hotel Europa in a comfortable room with good air conditioning and spotty wifi. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very helpful with information about the town and the local area. Would definitely stay here again plus it was a three minute walk to the train station.

Don't mind anything else: this hotel provides a 5 star service that goes way beyond fulfilling the customers needs. The receptionist helped us with making our 1 night stay as memorable as possible by making suggestions on what to do and where to go, this all with a never ending smile. Many people in the service industry could learn from him! The hotel itself was perfect in that it had all we needed in a location that could not have been better. Above all, the room was spotless! When back in Girona, definitely staying here again!
