Triple Tui - Log cabin, self contained, river side
Triple Tui's log cabin is stunning inside and out, natural wood furnishings and the comfort of being totally self contained for short breaks or longer holiday stays. We are eco-friendly and are totally off the grid, running our own hydro electricity and solar water heating, so our carbon footprint is very small. This does not mean, however, that we have skimped on comfort. If you love nature and the outdoors you will love it here with us. Come prepared for the peace and quiet of being surrounded by beautiful native NZ. Our Log Cabin backs on to Kahurangi National Park, it is in a secluded setting for complete privacy, and is set on a 50 acre working lifestyle farm with sheep. The Hope river runs through the property with plenty of swimming holes and stunning waterfalls. Bush and river walks for all levels of fitness. Near to great fly fishing spots - Steve is available to take you either fishing or deer/chamois hunting - inquire as to his availability and rates. Near to the best whitewater rafting in NZ, Nelson Lakes National Park for walking/tramping and there is horse riding just up the road. If you are a city dweller and need to get away to catch your breath and rediscover you, then this is the place. When we lived in central Auckland this is exactly the sort of place we would have wanted to get away to, and we built it with this in mind. Only an hour south of Nelson, easily accessible and plenty to do in the area. You will not be disturbed by your cell phone or internet as there is limitef reception here, so relax and be prepared to unwind and discover how much you can love the country life. We do and hope you will too. Special conditions: Check in between 2pm and 6pm Check out is 10am NO Discrimination - everybody is welcome here. Suitable for children BUT you must be responsible for them at all times as the deck/river/water are not fenced. Suits adventurous nature loving families. If any gate is closed please close it again behind you, if it is open, leave it open behind you. Smoking is permitted outside the cabin only. Dogs aee not permitted sorry.
Extras: Linen (included); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at the log cabin. Such a beautiful spot for some R&R. The cabin is decked out beautifully and stays wonderfully warm with the fire. We can’t wait to go back and have recommended the place to all our family and friends!
Wonderful place to escape and just be in nature. The cabin is simple but has a comfy bed and everything you need. I would suggest packing a small bag as there is a short walk to the cabin from the car.. Tracy was very helpful.
Absolutely wonderful and truly a paradise. A beatuiful location on a private area, but very far away from the owners, so it truly feels like you are on your own in the middle of nature. With a beautiful river in front of the cabin where we took our girls to go for a swim. They absolutely adored it. We all loved the place, it was very clean and quiet.
Our second stay at this secluded gem and we loved it even more. Great if you REALLY want to escape the rest of the world.

Amazing setting! Perfect little hideaway in the bush but with it's own clearing and river next to house, and great little walking tracks for hiking the vast property! Lovely hosts and even the animals were friendly!!
4x4 Vehicle access only unless you want to carry your bags 300m, including over a 50m 2 x plank & wire swing bridge.
This is not in listing.
Host has a 2 person seater 4x4 & said he only offers rides for 3+ night bookings & complained doing this for visitors damages his vehicle! When he reluctantly offered a lift out as I had a broken ankle & we commented that we felt he was prioritising his vehicle over us, there was no apology for the inconvenience, just a tirade of abuse as he started swearing & using very personal & rude profanities.
Note check in time was advertised as 11 am but he was adamant we should be "off his property by 10 am".
A beautiful property spoiled by terrible host.
Everything was perfect for a weekend in the country. The clean, comfortable house had everything we needed. There are walking tracks and a river to explore. The host was super nice and helpful.
Lovely location adjacent native bush and river that you can opt to ford to access property.
Definitely off grid. Many new paths through bush leading to waterfalls and water (swimming) holes.
Such a wonderful, secluded spot. Perched high on the bank the sound of the river was lovely. The cabin is gorgeous. Sitting in that big leather chair, in front of the fire with a glass of whiskey after some star gazing, fantastic. Can't wait to come back with the other half. Hosts are lovely, didn't see another soul.
