My wife and I decided to stay at Hotel Gasthaus Adler because we wanted to experience a quiet, classic, but not far from the black forest at all. Located between farms, it offers amazing views. Their restaurant was amazing! The food, service and atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable with a nice bathroom with lots of room. We also had a very spacious balcony were we sat and enjoy the big trees right across the street. Ths staff made it so welcoming, we felt like we were among family! We loved having stayed at Hotel Gasthaus Adler!!!

The office was closed when we arrived during the stated check in times, but we were able to ring the residence of the hotel manager. One of the rooms did not have towels, and the bed linens were not clean. The breakfast was superb! Overall, the place is very quaint and homey.

Hotel personell had a "ruhetag" which ment no personell but 1 lady available. There is no information about this on the site!! Restaurant and bar were closed because of that and which was one of the facilities I based my booking on. If I would have known this I would have chosen a different hotel. Bathroom was just big enough but the shower cabin very small. I am 1,90 m and weigh about 100 kg and could hardly move inside. Breakfast was ok but not outstanding.

Wonderful!

We LOVED this hotel. It is a charming, olde-worlde hotel with excellent food, comfortable rooms and helpful and friendly staff. We have been on holiday round Germany, staying in many different places and this was definitely our favourite.

Not At All As Pictured!

We ended up getting our money back. We showed up and felt like we were in an Alfred Hitchcock movie. They didn’t have the correct rooms for us, which worked out because they had absolutely no heat, the rooms looked like they hadn’t been touched in ages. There was 5 women traveling solo on this trip and they tried to put a woman in a room by herself which was a red flag. We all felt super uncomfortable with the person checking us in. When I told him we would not be staying he demanded I tell him where I would be staying which I refused to do. He said he would put one person in a room alone and when I said there still was no heat he kind of blew off the issue. It was absolutely freezing in the rooms (maybe 50F). Thankfully we found a room at a nice hotel. I normally love guesthauses but not this one!

In Sachen Sauberkeit gibts Luft nach oben: So fand ich in einer Schublade benutzte Taschentücher von vormaligen Gästen und gereinigt wurde über Pfingsten das Zimmer gar nicht (wir blieben immerhin 3 Nächte). Das Frühstück ist sehr gut, allerdings wurde am dritten Morgen (Tag nach Pfingsten) spürbar weniger aufgetragen (kein Schinken, keine Früchte mehr) - ein gleichbleibendes Niveau wäre prima. Achtung für Bucher mit Mobilitätseinschränkung: Zimmer im zugehörigen Nachbarhaus "Faller" im 2. OG sind m.E. nicht geeignet - daher bei Buchung vorher fragen, wo das Zimmer liegt.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich, das Zimmer im Nebenhaus überraschend groß und sehr sauber. Das Essen im Restaurant am Abend sowie das Frühstück waren von sehr guter Qualität. Wir würden dort gerne wieder übernachten.

Der Aufenthalt war klasse. Das reichhaltige Frühstücksbuffet und das Essen im Hotel sind hervorragend. Das Zimmer reicht völlig, wer keinen Luxus braucht. Die Lage ist top, Personal ist super lieb und immer hilfsbereit.

Das Zimmer war sauber. Obwohl das Fenster zur Strasse zeigte, war der Strassenverkehr kaum zu hören. Frühstück war nicht aussergewöhnlich, aber reichlich und gut. Was leer geworden war, wurde gleich ausgefüllt. Verbesserungswürdig ist vielleicht noch der Zugang. Auf der Hofseite war es sehr dunkel, als ich Abends ins Hotel wollte.(Gut, dass Handys eine Taschenlampe haben) ;-)
