"The issue with check in was that the printer was down? We, along with another guest had to wait around 20+ minutes not knowing what was happening. The receptionist offered what seemed to be a complimentary drink. We had a beer but then another staff member asked for payment. We paid to avoid an issue. Everything else was really good and dog friendly also, would stay again when visiting family in Bristol. "

"We had a really nice 2 night stay, we checked in earlier as our room was ready, which was a lovely start. The hotel was beautiful, the service was excellent, the bed was very comfortable, the shower hot and powerful. We enjoyed some nice food in the atrium bar, a lovely afternoon tea in the 1853 restaurant. And some nice 6 oclock gin on the terrace - all with fantastic service. The only negative was the room was so hot it was uncomfortable, a fan was provided and was really needed. There was also a huge generator outside, and the loading bay was noisy. (room 6 - junior suite) "

"The best part was the early opening of the.swimming pool etc. without children till 0800. lovely pool, good layout, and receptionist very pleasant. Other staff all very helpful, too. Will be back again, enabled us to explore Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean."

Breakfast was very comprehensive and beautifully prepared, and the staff very helpful. Our stay was very good, and we fully appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff we encountered!"
