"One complaint - i arrived (after a long drive from the desert) to the carpinteria-south location at 10:30a on 7/9, per hotels.com reservation. the clerk said i could not put my things in the room, nor store them anywhere onsite. i let her know i would not be arriving for checkin then until later in the night. so, i left for my all day and late dinner meetings. That is not the issue... rather, the clerk then took it upon herself to tell cancel my reservation. When I arrived back for checkin around 9p, the new lady at the desk said my reservation had been cancelled. Worse still, she said the Inn was full, but said she would do her best to resolve the issue. Which she was able to do (extreme kudos to this very capable woman; calm, professional, and resolved the problem). Had she not been able to secure me a room there on 7/9, i have no idea what i would have done. i was a stranger in a new town, absolutely exhausted by the drive and meetings, and would have had no where to go. why in the world would the morning clerk on 7/9 cancel my reservation without my knowledge ir permission?"
