The hotel was well situated with the centre and Train station a short walk away. The breakfast was good and the Room was very spacious even with 3 beds. A lovely hotel and would highly recommend if staying in goslar

Breakfast is pretty good and diverse. The location is perfect with both the train station and city center a few meters away. We found the room a bit smelly and, therefore, it needed frequent aeration, probably because the carpet floor would require thorough cleaning. The bottle of water in the room at the arrival as well as the towels for the sauna are for pay, which makes you feel a little bit less welcome, especially in a hotel of this category and price range.

Speciel good hotel

Breakfast will never satisfy everyone. I want crispy breakfast bread. it wasn't there. The coffee was super duper. No open restaurant for lunch. Dinner only. The staff is really top notch. Only 4 stars because the hotel charger for my Nissan Ariya didn't work. But all in all, definitely worthy of a recommendation. greetings, Kjeld Freundlich

We got a room with no hot water. We adressed it to the reception and also at check out. We were told that he - the receptionist - could not give a discount, we should write a mail to the management. So we did, but got the answer that we should have complained, and that everybody that had complained had got a discount on side. We wrote back that we did complain and asked them to re-concider their answer. Know we hear nothing … instead they have fully charged for the room. The room and location was beside that fine. But the feedback we have to rate zero because of this treatment

After 950 km. drive. we arrived a little before 9pm and checked in with a very kind and helpful receptionist. Had seen on the homepage that the restaurent should be open to 10pm. We went to the restaurent at 9pm - at the same time when two meals were carried from the kitchen in to some guests. But: We were rejected a table (even there were many empty tables) by a quite negative and unfriendly waiter, because we had not made a reservation. If we had not made a reservation, we were told, we could not expect that the kitchen had procured enough raw materials for feeding us. Even we asked for what disches they had materials to cook - and offered to just order that, we were still refused. We ended up walking through the city to maybe 5 restaurents with "closed klitchen" before we found one who served some very good ribs, at a small place called "Rib Publik", Shilderstrasse 57. But, this is simply not good enough at a relatively expensive hotel like Hotel Der Achtermann.

I think I have stayed at the hotel 10 times - as I can always park my motorbike in their private yard - close to the entrance. In addition, the service is professional and the rooms are always in excellent condition. And it is located approx. 500 meters from Brauhaus Goslar and the square

Overall a good experience. However it is clear the time post corona is hard: Not enough personnel and some of the ecofriendly initiatives seem to ba a cover-up for saving money (which is understood). An idea: Why not hire a Danish intern during the summer time to assist in the reception/bar area? There seem to be lots of Danes and the idea is that they will be welcomed by a Danish speeking person to tell them about the hotel's facilities (e.g how to book massage etc. in the clinic attached to the hotel) and maybe assist in the bar so opening hours doesn't clash with the dinner servings to the group travellers. We saw how the personnel fought to give us a good experience, so full credit to them. BR.

Bad service

It is disappointing that the Hotel did not guide os regarfing parking. As we should leave we needed change to pay for parking. And we almost paid 15€ too much for the parking. Luckily we returned to the reception for help to change chash. Only at this time we found out that it was cheaper and we could pay for parking at the hotel. Unnecessarily problems - and we had told that we came by own car when we arrived 😥
