We had a wonderful stay at Elia House in Goult. The house was fantastic for a group of friends. Plenty of space. Comfortable beds and walking distance to the village of Goult and it’s cafe’s and restaurants. A wonderful place to explore the Luberon. Our host Beatrice was easy to communicate with and very helpful. Our memories of our time in Goult will last forever.

We loved our stay at the house in Goult. Beatrice was great to deal with and it is in the perfect location of the village of Goult, with easy access to other sights nearby. The village itself has several great restaurants, good for lazy days by the pool when you don't want to go out on a drive.

A cozy and well-appointed home in an idyllic corner of the world. This was the perfect launching point to explore the Luberon and Beatrice was a communicative, welcoming and super helpful host. We enjoyed kicking back by the fire every evening after exploring the countryside and Goult feels like an under-the-radar gem. Was sad to leave!

We had a wonderful stay in Beatrice's lovely home. We loved the location in Goult. The house provided the perfect location and all the amenities needed for a very comfortable stay. Beatrice was a pleasure to meet and help us get situated, including a welcoming bottle of local wine and cheese. We spent many lovely evenings on the balcony overlooking other hill top towns in Provence with glorious sunsets.

this is a lovely property on the edge of the village on a quiet street. The owner was amazing and extremely thoughtful, the house comfortable and welcoming. I was working while there and the central location worked well for my needs, plus it was always a pleasure to return home after a long day.

We had a great stay at Elia House in early September. The house has loads of historic charm and is super relaxing. My husband and I and 2 close friends enjoyed the house and the village so much that we didn't stray too far from home, despite the attractions of the Ventoux. We enjoyed eating at Cafe de la Poste in Goult, watching the world go by. Also the pizza take- away in Goult is good. Elia House is not best suited to families with toddlers because of the steep steps, but I would thoroughly recommend it to others.

Staying in the town of Goult but having a view out over the valley and mountains was fantastic. The location is amazing for sightseeing in the Luberon and being able to walk 100m to the shops and restaurants. The house is very well equipped with very generous spaces. We had breakfast on the rooftop patio with a view of the mountains every morning. It was too cold to enjoy the outdoor pool and garden spaces during this cold May. The welcome to the property and communication with the owner were perfect. Thank you!

We were painters on a plein air holiday. For a week and loved every minute. Goult’s local epicerie and wonderful local restaurants provided us with all we needed. We didn’t have a car and so we’re reliant on the very busy schedules of taxi drivers, so I’d recommend a car. The only thing that’s a drawback is that there are only two toilets in the house, and none to accommodate the two bedrooms on the third floor. Still, I’d come back in a heartbeat.

We stayed in Elia House for two weeks and loved every moment. The house is large, comfortable and well-equipped. Beatrice has thought of everything! The beds are fantastic. The view from the top floor terrace is mesmerizing. And the pool is a welcome respite on hot afternoons. The kitchen has everything you need to cook any meal, although you may not want to because of all the fabulous restaurants in Goult and the surrounding villages.
Thank you, Beatrice, for sharing this gem of a place with us. It was the perfect central location for exploring the Luberon. We fell in love with Goult and it's sweet, welcoming people and were always happy to return there after being out and about in the beauty that surrounds it.

Elia house was lovely. Most well appointed rental we have ever experienced. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen has everything you need. Around the corner from downtown restaurants which are very good. We loved the upper deck and spent most evenings there sipping wine and enjoying the view and sunset. Beatrice was very attentive to our needs and checked in a couple times during our stay. Overall wonderful experience. (Bathroom features are a little funky, so be sure to pay attention to how they are described on her website. For us there was no problem, and we ended up liking the arrangement.)

The property was perfect for three couples (retired) with spacious bedrooms and a comfortable and cozy living area. The kitchen was well equipped where we prepared our evening meals with all our spoils from local markets. We spent happy hour on the third floor terrace overlooking the hills of the Luberon. We found Goult to be a typical and charming village, not as crowded as neighboring Gordes and Roussillon, but still lively with smart little shops, a grocery store located two minutes from the house, a cheese shop and a butcher, and the Cafe de la Poste where many of the locals hang out. We spent a wonderful week in Goult and made daily excursions to nearby sights. We wish to thank Béatrice and Dany for making our stay in Goult the perfect Provençal holiday.

Well located in a delightful village.....and one of the best equipped homes we
have enjoyed over the years......Attentive owner and staff responded quickly to
minor problems.....but most of all, it is a most pleasant home to return to at the
end of a touring day. Surrounding countryside provides quaint hilltop villages with pretty fountains, interesting architecture, breathtaking views.... and weekly markets.
Visit Gordes, Bonnieux, Roussillon, La Coste, Menerbe...Avignon, Fontaine de Vaucluse,
...and further afield ...StRemy de Provence and Les Baux... and make some of your own
discoveries!
Highly recommend Elia House in Goult for anyone visiting the Luberon.

The Elia House is a gem. Comfortable living room and dining room with a very functional kitchen and four bedrooms and two WC’s. Each bedroom has a sink and most a shower so everyone has their own space. The terrace is a perfect place for sundowners and the pool looks very inviting. We were here in late March so were unable to use the pool and its deck and spaces.
The village of Goult is a well kept secret of the region boasting fabulous restaurants and a renowned cafe. As well as an epicerie, fromagerie, and a boulangerie all within a five minute walk.
Beatrice is a delight to deal with and she ensured our stay was perfect - and it was. Cannot wait to return.
Merci beaucoup!

We were a group of three girlfriends celebrating our 65th birthdays with a holiday en Provence. We stayed at Goult House for one week in October 2024.
This property is exactly as described. It is a spacious house with a large kitchen, dining room and living room. The bedrooms are also big and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped and easy to work in.
The view from the upper bedroom balcony is spectacular. There are not views from the pool area, but is it lovely nevertheless. As our stay was in October, we didn't spend a lot of time around the pool, but as the pool was still open, one brave friend had a quick dip. We are Canadian!
It was helpful to have sinks in most rooms and showers in some. We were just 3 people, so having two toilets to share worked just fine for us.
Beatrice was very easy to reach and attentive to our needs. She was a pleasure to deal with both before and during our stay.
The house is right in the village, just a few minutes walk to the village square. There is a short hill, but it is not too steep. There are some very nice restaurants in the village, a good little grocer with fresh fruits and vegetables, a bakery, a cheese shop, and a butcher. Goult is a lovely, quiet little village and not busy like some of the most popular villages in the area. There are no tour buses in Goult.
We would highly recommend a stay at this property. It was everything we hoped for.
Thank you, Beatrice for the wonderful stay at your property!

Our family had an incredible stay. The owner Beatrice is warm, attentive, knowledgable and caring. She prepared the house for us at Christmas with so many special touches. The 3 story manor village house has been renovated with such care and inspiration. It functions really well and was a joy to live in for a month. Parking is on the street out front and always was available. Walk to the left around the corner and you reach the village Petanque courts then the bakery, hairdresser and Post office. Walk around the corner to the right and you reach the little friendly epicerie, cheese shop , butcher, the cafe, church and town square where the little farmers market happens each week. Within a 10 minute drive there are many other charming villages to visit. We had so many great adventures in this lovely area of vineyards, orchards and caves!
Thank you Beatrice for having us, what a wonderful memory. We 100% recommend this loved for house!

We had a really wonderful week at Elia House - it's a beautiful old house, with lovely period features but a modern living space and kitchen that fits in really well. The bedrooms are all huge, as is the lounge area and the kitchen is very well equipped. The garden is an oasis with a big pool (albeit too chilly for us in April!). The village itself is known as the "secret" village of the Luberon - hidden from the main roads but an authentic and beautiful village, full of history but lived in all year round with its own boulangerie, fromagerie, boucherie and epicerie, as well as several excellent restaurants and homewares shops. It was fantastic walking just a few minutes to get a pastry and bread every morning. It's also a great base to explore the Luberon's charms. We arrived expecting to visit Arles, Nimes and Avignon but we found so much beauty and fascination in the local villages (loved Menerbes, Bonnieux, Roussillon at sunset, and Gordes) without needing to spend hours in the car. You will not regret choosing this house or the area! A special word for the owner, Beatrice, who was truly wonderful with her thoughtful suggestions, help and her responsiveness. An absolute pleasure to deal with and she ensured our holiday was entirely stress-free. We really hope to be back one day...

Maison Elia is a near-perfect rental property in the heart of the Luberon: spacious and well-appointed, and perfectly situated in both the village of Goult and in Provence overall.
The house itself is spacious and nicely decorated, with a large dining room, kitchen, and living room on the ground floor, and 4 spacious bedrooms on the ground and upper floors; as well as a piano, ping pong table, TV and other activities. But the real selling points are the lovely backyard, with an elevated deck, paved patio, and in-ground pool that is a lush and private oasis after a morning in the bustling markets, perfect for lounging in the sun or cooling off in the pool; and the 3rd floor terrace overlooking the Luberon valley and Mont Ventoux in the distance, which is the ideal setting to steal away to read in peace, or enjoy a kir royale at dusk.
The house sits just a block or so from the village square, within easy walking distance of the grocery store, bakery, butcher, cafe, 4-5 excellent restaurants, and a host of other shops and attractions in Goult, but far enough away that the noise and bustle of the town is barely noticeable (especially on nights when there are town events).
Goult is also ideally situated for exploring all that Provence has to offer. It is within 10-20 minutes of many of the most popular villages to visit, including Gordes, Menerbes, Bonnieux, and Roussillon, and is within an hour of many others, including Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Apt, and Avignon. Marseille is less than 90 minutes, and Montpellier is a couple hours, among many others. The town itself is a wonderful place to stay: it's not quite as pretty or spectacular as say, Gordes or Menerbes, and so doesn't draw the same volume of visitors; but it is still a beautiful, ancient village, and so offers the best of both worlds.
The only blemishes on an otherwise perfect property are aging dishwasher and washing machines, and a lack of a drying machine (though clothes air dry rapidly in the dry provence air); and a lack of reserved parking (though there are plenty of spots within a block). We've stayed twice, and on both occasions the owner, Beatrice, has been responsive and helpful, both leading up to our stay (helping to secure dinner reservations, giving advice, etc.) , and in helping to troubleshoot problems while we were there (for example, a clogged drain in the shower was fixed within a day).
We love Goult and we love Maison Elia, and we hope you will too!

We could not have been happier with Beatrice’s home in Goult. We stayed for three weeks in April, and had the joy of watching spring unfold. When we arrived, the vines on the front of house were mostly bare; when we left, they were lush and green, and climbing roses covered the house next door. April is too cool for the pool, and we didn’t care about that anyway (no kids), but it’s a nice one, with plenty of loungers, a pool-shed shower and toilet, and a ping-pong table.
The bedrooms are large and nicely furnished, with comfortable beds. Some people might have a hard time with there being no toilet on the top floor, where two of the bedrooms are, but that’s life in an old European house, and we were fine with it. The upstairs sitting room is a quiet bonus space to work or read. As everyone has said, the top-floor terrace has a dreamy view and is gorgeous in the early evening. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped, and the living room has room for everyone to get comfortable.
Because we had the luxury of three weeks here, we explored most of the notable villages of the Luberon (don't miss the lesser-known Saignon, Caseneuve, and Joucas, and Oppède-le-Vieux is amazing), and Goult is hands-down the best to "live" in. Within a four-minute walk are a first-rate boulangerie, fromagerie/glacier, butcher, presse/tabac/cafe, and small but fully stocked market, plus three upscale (but not too frou-frou) restaurants, a casual Italian place, an excellent pizzeria, and two outdoor cafes, although the famous Cafe de la Poste was mysteriously closed (it appears to have changed hands a second time), so for now everyone is having their coffee and rosé at Le Goultois next door. There’s also a tiny but delightful market on Thursdays. Most of the small villages in the Luberon don't have all those amenities, and the larger ones (Gordes, Roussillon, Bonnieux) have to deal with tour buses and some tourist schlock.
Le Carillon was our favorite restaurant in Goult, but we had good meals at all of them (except a so-so lunch at Le Goultois, which really isn't a restaurant). Other favorite meals in the region included: simple lunches with killer views at Cafe de France in Lacoste and Bistrot la Terrasse in Joucas; Cafe de France in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue; rustic Bistrot de Pays l’Authentic in Caseneuve (thanks to pool guy Rolland for the tip!), and L’Insolite in Lourmarin. Favorite market was in Curcuron.
In sum: Elia House is wonderful!

We stayed at Maison Elia for three weeks and had a delightful time. Check-in went smoothly, and there was cheese, olives, and wine waiting for us. I made sure I understood the washing machine and the stove, but I neglected to ask about the TV. It took a while, but we figured it out and enjoyed watching the women's World Cup matches.
Common space: The house has the best kitchen I've ever encountered in a rental house, with two coffee makers, a food processor, a blender, and all the pots and dishes you could ever need. The living room is spacious, and the two uncomfortable looking chairs in the photos have been replaced with a long sofa. A room not included in the photos is a second large living room on the first (Fr) floor, providing another place for people to spread out for different activities. As other reviews have mentioned, the rooftop terrace is delightful. During the day it provides a view of Mt. Ventoux and the valley between Goult and the Monts de Vaucluse. At night the stars were magnificent!
Bedrooms and baths: The arrangement was somewhat unusual and would probably work better for a family than for several couples traveling together. An additional shower and toilet are next to the pool. The bedrooms were large and had ample storage space, the linens were nice, but the lighting was somewhat dim.
Area information: The owner, Beatrice, sent us a very nice information package about the area before we arrived, and there were many brochures in baskets in the living room.
Maintenance: Various people came to clean the pool, care for the landscaping, and to change the linens, but they had their own access and didn't intrude. Plumbers spent several hours replacing a fixture in one of the showers.
Coping with the canicule: Beatrice advised us open the shutters and windows at night and to close them during the day to retain the cool air. The building has thick stone walls, and that approach would be fine during normal summer heat, but the canicule with temps of 105-111F was extreme. We managed to stay cool with the pool, but it would have been nice to have had a few fans in the house. (At least one is shown in the photos.)
Owner: I had asked about boules so we could play pétangue just down the street, and Beatrice very kindly supplied two sets for us. We appreciated that she checked in several timed during our stay to ensure that everything was going well.
It was a wonderful stay, and we would return in a heartbeat!

Beatrice was a wonderful host. Communication was perfect and she was readily available to help us with our stay. is truly lovely with oodles of space. Great kitchen with terrace off of it which leads to a beautiful garden and pool! Deck off the upper master bedroom provides a great place to wind down with cocktails and enjoy the stunning views of The Luberon! A perfect spot right in the midst of the village of Gault. The village was everything we hoped it would be . I will definitely being staying again and highly recommend this home.
