In all reality, for someone that’s in town just for work, it’s a great place to stay. They clean your room, replace used towels and do your bed. Restrooms a little small, sometimes slightly noisy outside environment due to the place being next to an intersection. But if you’re just looking for a comfortable bed with hot showers, great a/c, cable tv, and parking right in front of your room, all at the best price you can find in Stephenville, this is your place.

Literal Dump

I knew going in that for the price this would be a dump, but I didn't expect to literally see a dump in the toilet when I walked in my room. They moved me to another room with a broken microwave and a dirty wash cloth hanging from the shower head. The front office lady was apologetic and friendly, but you certainly get what you pay for with this "Royal" Inn. There was nowhere to hang clothes, no closet and no ice machine on the property. It was a tiny room, which was ok with me but no table or chair (unlike the advertised photos) to sit anywhere other than the bed. I had read another review indicating sketchy guests staying there and sure enough...I woke up to 15 minutes of a man and woman screaming vulgarities at each other. Look, I just needed a place to sleep and this room provided that. I've stayed in some cheap hotels before but I can't imagine a much worse motel than this "Royal Inn".

Disappointed

At first I thought this isn’t too bad. But when I went to bed I discovered there was only this thin so called bed spread for covers. The top sheet had been tucked in only to discover another top sheet. When I pulled the fist one back the one underneath it was dirty. My daughter was bitten by some kind of bug in the bed. The floor were swept and mopped but were still dirty. Make sure you wear sock to walk or your feet will be filthy. There are no plugs for hairdryers except at the lamp. When I plugged it in I had to hold it in place because the plug is upside down and due to the fact that plus on the wall lamp the actual lamp keeps you from plugging it in correctly. There was a table with no chairs so if you are dining in the room be prepared to eat in bed.

We were able to park close and the TV/WiFi was good. We don’t smoke but had to take a smoking room which we were blessed to get. The pillows could have been fluffier.

When we first got to the hotel to check there was druggies and drunks in the parking lot, so we felt the need to keep checking on our vehicle. The room was so tiny!! We had turn sideways to walk into the bathroom. There was trash and a pacifier on the floor still when we first arrived.

Fine except for the bathroom

The room would’ve been fine, were it not for the bathroom. The bathroom was incredibly cramped. The sink vanity blocked half the door, and anyone bigger than average would probably find the toilet incredibly cramped. The nails on the threshold to the bathroom are sticking up. I snagged my sock on one of the nails; I could easily have stubbed my toe or hurt my foot if I’d been barefoot.
