Spacious Country Living with Fishing Lake!

Summary:
This charming home is located in the quaint town of Grand Bay, AL. We are down a rocky, dirt road on 200 acres of land. Across the street is the Hill and Brooks (Coffee and Teas) 5000 acre ranch. This is country living at its finest. Right next to the house you have an 8 acre pond fully stocked with Bass, walk next door and enjoy the country fishing!
You’re only 45 mins away from the white sandy beaches of Dauphin Island, 20 mins to Mobile regional airport and 40 minutes east of Biloxi, MS.

The Space:
In 2022, this traditional 4 bedroom, 2 bath home underwent a complete renovation where it was redesigned with stylish finishes and decor. The home was fully refinished with new stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and a fully stocked kitchen. Four large bright and airy bedrooms and two full bathrooms give guests ample room to enjoy their stay.

A small patio off the back gives a nice outdoor space to lounge. A small patio off the front of the house overlooks the 300 acre cotton field across the street.

Guest Access:
Guest access: Guests have access to a private patio area and lounge area. Parking is available directly in front of the home in the grass. This house sits on 2 acres of grass for your dogs to play.

Please note: We are down a 1/2 mile rocky, dirt private drive. We keep up with the road privately but there are some pot holes along the way, drive slowly down the drive.

The Neighborhood:
Grand Bay, known as the watermelon capital of Alabama, is a small farming community centrally located to many popular Gulf Coast attractions. It is home to the Grand Bay Watermelon Festival held every year on The Fourth of July when the town gathers to celebrate the South’s best-tasting watermelon. Fresh Grand Bay-grown watermelon is served by the slice, and the Watermelon Festival Queen is crowned during the beauty contest. There is also live music and small fair rides for the kids.

There are several local eateries in Grand Bay, including hometown favorite Sams Super Burger that serves American classics, and Kitchen of the Sea, the local food truck that’s often parked in the center of town serving the freshest seafood.

Dauphin Island is a small island situated just off the the beautiful Alabama Gulf Coast. Tourists, snow birds and families flock to Dauphin Island year-round for the miles of beaches, the fresh Gulf Coast seafood and world-class deep sea fishing. the Dauphin Island Fishing Rodeo during July brings more than 75,000 spectators to the island for a weekend of fun and sports fishing.

Mobile hosts many events throughout the year, but none compare to Mardi Gras celebrated every spring when tens of thousands join together all around the city for parades, masquerade balls and other fun events surrounding this Southern celebration.

Downtown Mobile has many different attractions that may interest families and tourists, including the USS Alabama battleship docked in Mobile Bay, and Fort Conde, an 18th century fort built by the French during the colonial period. (Both are available to tour.) While you’re exploring downtown, be sure to take a stroll down Dauphin Street to see the old historic buildings of Mobile, many of which are now restaurants featuring the finest Gulf Coast cuisine.

Getting Around:
There is no public transportation in Grand Bay, but the home is located less than a five-minute drive to grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations.

Nice size home but could use a cleaning

The house was comfortable and stocked with essentials however it was clear that top blankets were not cleaned between guest. The address was a little confusing but we found it after back tracking. No instructions on how to access the lakes but we didn't end up having time anyway

Great location

The house was as advertised. Very clean, lots of space for my kids to run around. It was a quiet area and very close to where we needed to be. The only complaint I have is about the road the house is on. Thankfully we all drive trucks or SUVs because it’s a dirt road with many potholes. Could be difficult to get down it in a car. Karin was great and oven let me back in the house after I forgot something

Nice house

We were not able to stay at the house. The drive leading to the house was nat passable with my elderly parents in the car. The property was very nice but unfortunately it did not work for us.

Country Living

Overall our stay was great. Home is very clean and up to date. Rooms nice size except for one with bunk beds (very small). Very comfortable beds. Please note in "description" home is located on dirt road. Road is full of pot holes and it rained while we were there and it looked like we had gone "muddin" (fortunately we were in a truck) not sure how a car would have done with the muddy drive. Also, if you plan on cooking while visiting, be sure and bring all your own spices, plastic wrap, foil, coffee filters, creamer, etc. as there were none at the house. We also had to buy soap for the laundry as none was supplied. Overall except for the things mentioned, the stay was pleasant and we enjoyed are time with family. I would give a 4.25 star rating.
